Michael Ficocell Tombstone photo
I see you have a photo request for St. Anthony Cemetery in Cumberland Wisconsin.
You can get photos of tombstones from St. Anthony Church Cemetery at:
900 St. Anthony Street
Cumberland, Wisconsin

Here you'll find photographs of all of the tombstones located at St. Anthony Abbot Cemetery in Cumberland, Wisconsin. Originally the list contained individuals of Italian descent, but now, all tombstones are shown.

The cemetery contains markers as early as the mid-1890's. It is located next to St. Anthony Abbot Catholic church which is located in a rural setting about two miles south of the city of Cumberland. It is on the northeast corner of the intersection of County Road P (1st Ave.) and St. Anthony Street (21-1/2 Ave.).

All descendants of Italians connected to Cumberland, Shell lake, Spooner, Hudson and Western Wisconsin are invited to CIAO 2016. 9/10 at the St. Anthony Church Center. Noon till 5PM. Potluck (dish to share) Free will donation to the Church. Beverages will be available for purchase. Family displays are welcome. Slide show. Door prizes (we need donations). Also prizes for various categories: oldest, youngest, furthest away etc. Questions or to RSVP:

Sorry that it's taken over 2 years, but I finally logged in and made the correction you suggested. I think you can see the stone better now and read it.

Reba Stewart- FAG memorial #78466555
Hello Orleans,

You had put a request for Reba Stewart's picture, but that pictures is already on the memorial. You may want to remove the request, so volunteers don't get confused.

Thanks so much,

The photo has been removed and dogwalker 41 notified. Thanks for calling this to my attention. I would have taken another photo on my next trip to that cemetery but glad dogwalker was able to get it in a more timely manner.

Abbigaile Smith
I have a photo to add for Abbigaile Smith's memorial, per your request. Unfortunately, Findagrave said that the maximum pictures allowed limit has been met, and I am unable to add my picture. Perhaps you can contact one of the people who have added a photo and ask them to remove it. The one that I have is of Abbigaile's headstone. Please let me know.

You are most welcome, Orleans! I am happy I was able to fulfill this request for you. What sadness when a child dies, but it appears he was much loved in his short lifetime! Blessings, Barb

RE: re: de clifford photos

Yes, Wade was a great racing supporter and owner of horses. In those days Riverton had a three day racing carnival over Easter - it was well known, but now it is down to 2. I attach a link to an article I found when I was trying to sort things out (as to which de Clifford was which) - it's about Gail's husband, but mentions Wade at the bottom.

You're most welcome. It brought back some memories as I knew Wade when I was a child, and his daughter married into my line. Let me know if you want anything else.

Mary Sim
Vallecito Cemetery #2
I am in CA on vacation (from NY), and my husband and I sought out Vallecito Cemetery #2, in an effort to try to find for you the missing parts of the inscription from Charles Rufe's grave (1861-1871). I have some theories on some of the missing words, and we took a lot of pictures. I can tell you that the original picture in the memorial is not a bad one...the problem is that some of the surface has slaked off of the stone. Please contact me, so we can set up a phone call to postulate on the missing words. If you send your Email address, I will send you the photos we took. RE: re: adin french
Adin had a middle initial N. in his name.

Under the death date it says: AE 29yrs. & 9ms.

the epitaph under that is not legible to me but appears to be a quote from the bible.

He is buried next to his wife Mary E. French.
There are additional French's here, too. It is possible that the Find A Grave memorials were established before the time that links were available. If you look at the other French memorial pages there is some information for family connections.
I am not related to anyone in the Dummerston cemeteries. I just can't pass up going down old roads and finding these historical graveyards.

I checked the poem printed on the bench and then checked it against the poem online. The poem is complete, ending with
"We will be one together." However, there is one word missing from the third line from the end. It should read "nothing is lost". The word lost is cut off.

You're so welcome,I am happy to have helped. It is an absolutely beautiful grave site, with a large cedar tree standing by, that has memorial plaques for both Steve and Leona on it. One thing is obvious in visiting this man's grave: he was much loved :-)
