I have been taking cemetery pictures for a while less for historical significance and more for art/photography and cemetery appreciation. Though this and another site made me go out and photograph a few local cemeteries again and a couple new ones. Finding a county map I see there are numerous small country cemeteries marked all over my area. These cemeteries often aren't documented well or at all on line, though surprisingly some are well documented for their obscurity and remoteness.

This gives me a great opportunity to be the first to document and photograph them for the net. It also allows me to get to know my family history better, the three cemeteries I visited in the past two days all have relatives, some I had met before their passing briefly, some quite close like my grandparents, and some quite distant whom I never heard of.

So enjoy if you are researching your family and it is in one of the cemeteries I add, we might even be somehow connected.
