Bio

My Dad was born in NE Tuscaloosa County AL near Alta, Fayette County, AL. His parents moved around somewhat thru Tuscaloosa, Fayette and Walker Counties. They settled in Fayette at what is now the entrance to the Guthrie Smith Park and his parents stayed there till their deaths.

My Dad served in the Civil Service for 30 years in the Norfolk Navel Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA where I was born.

My Mom was born in Manteo, NC on the Outer Banks.
We moved to Fayette, AL from Portsmouth, VA in 1971.

I was on FAG looking for some info and found where someone from out of state had posted incorrect info about my Dad's grave and decided to join to straighter this out.

My ancestors on my Dad's side are Evans, Smith, Jones, Watkins, Rodgers and more. I have found Evans' back to VA & NC and Smith's back to NC.

On my Mother's side are the Knights, Meekins, Midgettes, Etheridge and more on the Outer Banks of NC.
