Bio

I'm a former member of the Lancaster Historical Commission, which I held positions as Advisor, Commissioner, Secretary and Co-Chairman, I also was an advisor for the Lancaster Genealogical Society. I've provided research for both, and focus much of my research on local cemeteries. I've tried to document as much as I can in providing, photos, links, and bio information.

Please be aware that a person can have more than one memorial. Please RESEARCH before requesting a merge (Duplicate). These may not be a duplicate. Some may be a cenotaph or a group memorial.

Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With numerous contributors in same state and/or counties, there will be overlapping of family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire family tree.

Please be aware that if I didn't add the picture, then I can't remove it. You will need to message person who added it. Also, I can't delete a memorial I didn't create.

As manger of the memorials under my care, I have discretion as to what is added to the bios. I will try to honor your requests as written, but will correct typos and adjust as needed. Please provide source/credit of newspaper articles transcribed to obits.

In providing family links, please use the Edit tab to submit.

Also, when messaging me, please reference memorial number so I can locate correct memorial.

If possible when providing photos of headstones, please try to include one of the whole marker/monument and another closer to the engraving. Please crop, focus, straighten images before posting to show respect for the deceased and their families. Photo of deceased in coffin will not be accepted and will be asked to remove.

Find A Grave is a great resource and has a lot of wonderful historical information. My goal is to be able to locate and provide as much information on each of my Ghent family members that I can find. I have found more than one set of Ghent's in our area and I am trying to see if they connect, so linking them has been a great tool. I try to keep and eye out for information on deaths, marriages, births, etc...on other local citizens as well and add those in hopes to help others with their genealogy endeavors.
I have received a lot of help from other members of Find A Grave and it's very much appreciated.

Other Family Searches: Clemmer, Johnson, Stokes, Clanton, Campbell, Catoe, Waters, Sanders, Knight, Belk, Godfrey, Barr, Broome, Sweatt, Neal, Roach, Dunlap, Taylor, Sistare, Starnes, Rowell
