I have been a firefighter for 20 years. I have always been a student of the Civil War, in part because I grew up next door to a cemetery and would always go over and read the veterans stones. I had four grandfathers that served in the conflict, three in the Union Army and one in the Confederate Army.I have a great passion for the 40th Indiana Infantry. I love the history that each cemetery offers.

I grew up in Waveland , Indiana and love the local history. My 6th Great Grandfather John J. Payton came to Brown Twp. (Waveland area) in 1828 from Kentucky and we are still in old Montgomery Co.

I also enjoy baseball, being a huge Red Sox fan. They picked up a relative of mine in 1912, so I am a faithful fan.

I also enjoy my family, a wife and three sons. It's even better being able to share with them the history of their family and where they came from.

I am willing to photograph for anyone with family buried in this area. I have many Civil War photos on file.
