A native of Miami, Florida and now living in South Carolina since 1979, I've been a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) for more than 40 years and was a member of the U. S. Air Force and S.C. Air National Guard for almost 40 years. I was retired from the Air Force in Feb. 2010 as a Major (almost 13 years enlisted and more than 27 years a commissioned officer) - I was a Public Affairs Officer & Technician (newspaper writer & editor, photographer, videographer, graphic artist, radio-TV news, CCTV, speech-writer, website, etc., etc.)

My wife, Judy, and I have four grown children: a daughter, three sons, and 13 grandchildren. Our daughter is a teacher and our three sons have fulfilled and are continuing to fulfill their duty to their country as active, reserve, or retired military members of the Armed Forces as well as in the fields of Law Enforcement and Medicine. I enjoy photography, genealogy, and helping others in their genealogical quests. I am glad to fulfill photo requests as time permits. I am pastor of the Salem Presbyterian Church (founded 1812) in Fairfield County (S.C.) located about 32 miles north of Columbia.

I am a graduate of Shenandoah Jr. High, Miami Senior High School, Miami, Fla., 1968; The Citadel (BA History), Charleston, S.C., 1972, Charleston, S.C., and Columbia International University (Seminary), (M.Div.), Columbia, S.C., 1984, as well as numerous DoD and USAF schools. I am a descendant of Joshua Hodges, Sr., (R.S.) (1736-1809), Nathaniel Hodges, (1777-1858), Wade Payton Hodges, (1822-1877), Nathaniel Thomas Hodges, (1860-1943), Charles Groover Hodges, Sr., (1889-1980), and Charles G. Hodges, Jr., (1920-2013) I am also a descendant of the Trulocks from south Georgia, specifically Gordon Byron Trulock, (C.S.A.) On my mother's side, I am a descendant of the Jones, Rhodes, Trawick, McCall, and Sammons families of Dale and Barbour counties, Alabama. My wife's family include the surnames of Fain, Caldwell, and Graham.
