Thank you so much for leaving a token for my sister, Sandy. It was very thoughtful of you, and greatly appreciated.

Catherine Beckman
Monument for Jan 1945 Belgium
Dear Vrinparadise,

My name is Catherine Beckman, I am the niece of pvt Robert George Beckman of the 505 airborne who is buried at Henri-Chapelle in Belgium.

Last June 2014 you posted two photos, a tall monument at the edge of a forest with a stone at its base. On the stone (your second photo) the names of soldiers who died alongside my uncle are listed. I found it when I revisited my uncles Find-a-grave monument.

Where is the exact location of this monument with the stone at its base? And could you tell me its history and the history of the virtual cemetery you created for this small group of soldiers who appeared to have died together though some were returned to the states.)

Pvt Robert G Beckman's two surviving brothers and one sister are very senior in their years but would love any information you could share with me. Please contact me via email

Catherine Beckman

Ps I recognize the names because they are referenced in col Spencer F Wurst's book, "Descending from the Clouds."

Just discovered the Find A Grave website and was surprised to see a photo of my relative, can you tell me where you got this picture? do you have any other pictures of him or any information about him?
