Bio

Born in '42, four months after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. My parents had only been married for a year when the war broke out. My dad served with the Navy in the Pacific, aboard P.T. boats, in the Philippines, and my mom kept the home fires burning. I Grew up in the post war years of the 40's and 50's in a small southern town, and would not trade my childhood, or my wonderful parents for all the gold in Fort Knox. The best years of my life, and the best of any time to grow up in America. So, now that my life is drawing to a close, that my parents and their generation are gone, I place remembrances here for people I knew, and those I admired. Some of whom I loved. I think of Thornton Wilder's closing paragraphs of his famous novel, about death. "There is a land of the living, and a land of the dead, and the bridge between them is love, the only survivor and the only meaning." For my friends on this site, I hope your life has been as interesting as mine.
