Amasa Ladd is not buried in the St Joseph cemetery on Isle LaMotte. That cemetery did not exist until the Catholic church was built in the 1870s.
Here is a quote from Stratton's History of Isle LaMotte ". . . Capt. Amasa Ladd was another "mystery" - very briefly an Isle LaMotte resident, supposed to have died there but can find no record."
FWIW Owners of Ancestry family trees heve him buried in nearby Chazy, NY
Please remove this memorial from the ST.Joseph cemetery.
