I began visiting local cemeteries for my family history and quickly changed to photographing as much of a cemetery as I could and posting the photos or entering a new memorial if there wasn't one before. I hope to help those looking for their ancestors, and also to preserve and document the grave site. So many stones are deteriorating rapidly, and natural or man made catastrophes are endangering some cemeteries. It is vital that we preserve this information for future generations. I also find it very peaceful to walk in our local cemeteries, and a connection in knowing that many years ago they walked the same ground and lived their lives here.
