"Those who spend their time looking for the faults in others, Usually make no time to correct their own."
Missing my son, Mark Allen Israels. II.
November 20, 1988
July 6, 2012
Losing a child is the most horrific pain one will ever feel.
The "Hillside Cemetery" in Reno was my motivation for Find A Grave. I had been a resident of Reno for 20 years before I knew of its existence. I finally found where the Hillside Cemetery was located and when I went there I was so appalled, outraged and shocked at the condition of the final resting place for many of Washoe County's finest citizens.
I started researching the cemetery online and found a survey prepared by Dolores Samuels Young and Mildred Chandler Pressell, back in 1955. Thank God, these ladies took the time to record all of the headstones that were legible at that time. Without their survey who knows how many people would have been forgotten.
I try everyday to find some little piece of information for the people buried in the Hillside Cemetery.
I try to post all information I find on a person, I believe it's sharing not stealing, especially if I take the time to research the information I find. Not everybody has the means to find the same information. I hate to think that a picture I found in a yearbook, or in a library and didn't share might have been a relative's only chance of seeing it. I'm forever grateful to others who shared pictures of my family with me. I also post obituaries especially from the 1800's. I think people like to see them. With that being said, I hope you see me as a contributor who wants to help in every way possible.
May God bless you and keep you safe in his loving arms.
Please be honest with me, if I entered a memorial and it was a family member of yours I am so willing and understanding to transfer them to you, but, please don't send me messages telling me I duplicated the memorial that you entered when it clearly shows that I entered mine in 2007 and you entered yours in 2010. Just say hey when I first started on Find A Grave I didn't realize you could transfer memorials over and I wanted to be the owner so I duplicated the memorial. It's not about numbers so I would've gladly transferred ownership over. But, don't try to be dishonest about it. I am always willing to transfer family.

|Suzanne Henson ||My Daddy's grave|
You have my Daddy's grave listed as being in the Masonic cemetery in Reno. They have no record of him. I traveled from Oregon and was unable to find a marker. I can only assume you saw one since you have posted his name and dates. Can you remember or have a record that might be of assistance? His name is "Sam D Henson".
|Janet Whitson||William Dryden Fothergill|
Thank you for posting the death cert for William. I notified the original creator of the entry to do the edit. Thank you again.
|Wendy McIntosh||James Isaac Custer|
Thank you for the update on James Custer.
I also lost my son - Caleb Joseph McIntosh - 1985-2004
There must be a special place in heaven for parents who have been through the pain and grief of the death of a child.

Dear Mark's Mom,
Thank you for placing the information of my husbands Grandparents Ira and Leona Proud on Findagrave. I have read your message and I too lost my son Brandon Dimick and then in May 2016 my husband Christopher Kelly to Glio Blastoma Multi-Form Type 4 Brain cancers.
My heart goes out to you and your family. God Bless you for all your wonderful work and know that families appreciate all that you do to help them in their research.
Sending you a big hug.
Wendy L. Kelly in LV, NV
Hi, I would like to know if it is ok that I share your quote at the beginning of your bio on my page also. It is something I can surely relate to and hope that it is ok if I do. Thank you for all you do. Without people like you, some of us would not be able to see or find what you provide!

|Melody Stumpff Gonzales||Memorial #23054234, Irene Carroll|
I believe this is my great-aunt Callie Irene Self Carroll, DOB 24 Mar 1907, the date of death is a year off but that happens a lot. She was married to Lewis Carroll and died in Reno, NV. They had no children. Since I never knew her I didn't know that she went by her middle name. I am so happy to find her! I have been looking for her burial place for a long time. Thank you!
|JC||Charles E Wheeler|
Thank you so much for posting the obituary for Charles E Wheeler. It has helped so much with my research. You are an angel to many. Thank you sweet lady.

I was wondering if it was possible to take a photograph of the cemetery, entrance etc? I was up there during the summer and couldn't find the cemetery. Thank you!

You transferred this memorial to me a while back. I have been researching anyone with that name, or anything close to it, who might have lived or died in Jarbidge, NV. I find no record of any sort.
Do you know of any source of information that might indicate he was buried there?
If not, I'd suggest You delete the memorial. I can't delete it because I was not the original creator.
