Bio and Links
Bio Photo My added vs. managed memorials difference is quite large because I manage many memorials transferred to me from an inactive member. I work daily on those to add and correct information but there are many yet to do.

I do not link to "unknown" burial memorials as disposition should be known before adding a memorial and Find A Grave states that if they are, the burial location should be added within 30 days.

RE: Joseph Boak Grave...
I'm thinking of visiting Joseph Boak's unmarked grave possibly next year, and providing some kind of marker that will last many years, as it's such a shame my great uncle is buried in the same graveyard as arguably one of America's greatest ever Presidents - Abraham Lincoln...As a relative who lives in the Northumberland area of the United Kingdom, I am so proud of this fact...

RE: Ada Griffin #57355685
Thank you for your help with this memorial. Sources that show Ada's maiden name as Mallory:

1. 1895 Illinois marriage record of William A. Hagerty & Ada L. Mallory. Her parents are listed as Asa L. Mallory & Mary E. Carter.
William Hagerty died in 1899. They had one son, Wilfred Lennell Hagerty

2. 1900 Illinois marriage record of Charles H. Griffin & Laura Mallory Hagerty.(Ada's middle name is Laura.) Her parents are listed as Asa Mallory & Mary E.

3. 1880 Census Household of Asa Mallory, Mary Mallory, Otis Loyd Mallory, Asa Lorin Mallory, Ada Laura Mallory, & Susan Smith.

4. 1900 Census Ada Hagerty, widowed, living with her son, Wilfred Hagerty, brother, Asa Mallory, & boarder, Charles Griffin. Ada married Charles later that year.

5. Her son, Wilfred Lennell Hagerty's Social Security Application list his parents as William Hagerty & Ada L Mallory.

The Illinois Death Index lists her mother correctly as Mary Carter. Her father is listed as Wilfred Hagerty who is really her son. I'm not sure why this mistake was made.

Let me know if you have any further question.

Request Permission
Requesting permission to copy the picture you have of the entrance to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois to my private family tree on Ancestry.com. I have several Middendorf and Nilsson relatives buried there. Permission would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Dorothy

George C. Glover memorial
Hi,BjJ - I am researching George C. Glover's family for a friend and see that you manage his memorial 29849555, though it was originally created by a Charles Brown. Are you related to George? We are trying to find the date/burial for his wife Lettie G. (Enlow) Glover. The last known record of her is in the 1915 Springfield, IL City Directory. I don't find her in FindAGrave, and just wondered if you were connected to this family.
Thanks!

RE: Joseph Boak Grave...Cont.
Indeed I was a wee bit dismayed to discover that my past relative Joseph Boak who along with his brother Christopher, and wife emigrated from their home here in Northumberland,UK around 1879 first to Texas and then Arizona to seek a better life for themselves, lies buried in an unmarked grave...However,I'm equally 'Over the moon' not only to find his grave in Oak Ridge Cemetery, which I cannot thank you enough for the pictures, after quite a bit fruitless family tree research but also to discover that my great uncle shares the same graveyard of arguably the greatest American President of all time...Abraham Lincoln !
It now has me thinking of providing a stone or marker for Joseph Boak as I regularly clean up past family headstones over here as the near illegible inscriptions are badly covered in well over a century of dirt and grime...I feel that I am now responsible, all being well, to look after these graves and headstones for future family generations to visit and find out like myself the history of their forebears and how they lived and died...Well,without them...we just wouldn't be here...would we...

Thank you again,
Many Thanks Indeed,
John
