My home is circa 1784. Its situation is such that it fell in the line of battle during the conflict between the States. When my father died, I was too early at the cemetery for the appointment concerning the necessary arrangements. To pass the time I paid a visit to the antique shop close by. Displayed there was a book which possessed a title that gave me the idea that my home may be mentioned within. Upon opening it, the pages fell directly to a description and photograph of my old place. It was not intended for the purpose, but the volume became a much worn field guide as I sought to visit and photograph other antebellum homes in the vicinity. I pursued that objective with interest and vigor. This caused me to notice the old churches en route and I began to photograph them. Behind the churches were cemeteries. Cemeteries that I found to be serene and sublime, full of lore. In turn they led me here and I stayed.

|Kathleen Aderhold||RE: Slim Idaho 20873799 Aderhold|
Ken Idaho was a singer, tenor sax, fiddle player and did comedy in Texas. He was a great musician and entertainer, played with Jimmy Heap the the Melody Masters. Ken Idaho was actually Ken Aderhold, brother of steel-guitar Slim Idaho (real name : Dewey Hubbard Aderhold Jr.). I saw an obit for Ken somewhere and an looking for it again.
More on Slim Idaho:
he used to ride to gigs on his motorcycle with his steel strapped to his back to his gigs. he recorded with Moon Mullican and Cowboy Copas and used to play on the WRVA barn dance in Richmond, VA. Played at the opry
I found the obit for Slim and will try to attach to his memorial.

Thank you. you sent me something once before about an Aderhold who was a country singer. I recently came upon a lot of info about him and was going to add it, but I could not find the message from you. i found his obit and some songs he sang and a show that he was frequently on. What was his name?

Go to original findagrave memorial and delete your photo of Theodore. I already copied and pasted to new memorial, and gave you full credit. only you can delete a photo you apply to a memorial. Thank you.

Turns out this Theodore Tesch was not the CPL form Co. B, 26th Wisconsin Infantry. His military pension card indicates he died 23 May 1915 in Ixonia, Wisconsin. I am transferring info and your picture of him to the correct memorial. It is memorial 7789487.
|Carolyn Thomas Gratton||RE: Vernon Ford|
Uncle Vernon's dad was Bruce Nicholas Ford and his older brother was Bruce Garnett Ford. His brother went by Garnett. I never met his dad, just his mother Mamie when she lived in the little house behind Uncle Vernon and Aunt Louise's house on Old Washington Highway.

I was wondering if you could help me as I saw that you have taken photos in Wytheville.
I have a death record for a family member and I would like to add her memorial. Her record has listed Sherwood Abby Cemetery. It is not listed so obviously the name isn't correct. Would you have a guess as to what else it could be called?.
