Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love researching cemeteries and strive for accuracy. If you see an error or have additional info you want added, do not hesitate to contact me through Suggest A Correction (not through Messages or E-mail) and I'll be more than happy to make the changes. (Note: Suggest A Correction is accessible through the Edit tab.)

Note that Find A Grave, though a valuable resource for genealogists, is not primarily a genealogical website. Certain highly detailed genealogical data (e.g. census transcriptions) is more suited for sites like Rootsweb.

Some people I have entered are my relatives; most are not. In documenting graves, I contribute to this site's growth and completeness. My goal is often to photograph an entire cemetery, but in large cemeteries this can be a daunting task; in such cases I just randomly photograph markers that catch my eye.

Some have asked why I am doing this. I'm doing this to honor the memories of the dearly departed, to give relatives who live far away the chance to visit the graves of their loved ones online when they can't do so in person, and to assist genealogists by providing information unavailable elsewhere. No disrespect is intended; indeed, I enter the data and post the photos with only the most respectful and honorable of motives.

I live in Taiwan and often travel to places like Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia to photograph cemeteries.

To protect the privacy of the living, I do not input pre-need graves, and I remove the names of the living from obituary information I post.

In general, if the stone does not show a birthdate, but instead an age, I do not calculate the birthdate from the age due to varying methods of calculations used, instead leaving the birthdate field blank. I make exceptions for my own direct ancestors and those for whom I can find reliable documentation. I can't stress this enough: If you wish me to add a birthdate to a headstone with only a death date and an age, please tell me HOW YOU KNOW the person's birthdate. Otherwise I will SUMMARILY IGNORE that request! Plus, I can't make links to children or siblings; only to spouses and parents. Such requests WILL BE IGNORED.

And when providing me with cities or towns of birth and/or death in the US, please tell me the county. Thank you!

As for transferring "ownership" of memorials, I am more than happy to do so if you are a relative. But please make the requests reasonable, rather than saying something like "Give me all your Smiths." This is Find A Grave, not Go Fish! :)

Enjoy your graving!

James Boone - Cave Hill Cemetery
James Boone (#45285325) is incorrectly listed in Cave Hill National Cemetery (Louisville, KY). If you will get the memorial moved to the correct cemetery, I'm sure a photo will be gotten and added in short order. The memorial owner has ignored me and probably others.

William Henry BENNETT and others
Hi Chris.
May I have your permission to use the photos of the memorial on which William Henry Bennett and three others are commemorated, all of whom died in Hong Kong. They are at rest in Hong Kong Cemetery. I will be uploading the photos to accompany my photo of a memorial on which they are commemorated onto MilitaryImages.Net and Flickr. This memorial is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Memorial 10629992 Elizabeth Clark
I hit the button to request a photo but it says there is already a photo. There is not a photo. Could you please add a photo? Thank you.

RE: Bessie M. Lail
Because I have the cemetery records. She does not belong there. I have noted her dates and the fact that she is not there. Hopefully, someone will pull her obit or her family will know and have her added in the right place.

FindAGrave memorial 166857224 for Mac Perrin
It has been my honor to fulfill your request for images of the Perrin family headstone.
As you suspected, this is a pre-need situation. The headstone also has the name of his sweetie, Mary Jane who was laid to rest in 2003. His half still only contains his birth year.
If his death is recent, it may be that the system hasn't yet taken care of getting the year of death tag added to the headstone. I'll check it in a couple of months and update the images as needed.
Meanwhile, I have a typhoon/hurricane to duck...

I'll add images for Mary Jane's half of the headstone using, for the first time for me, the 'edit' feature. We'll see how that goes.. ;-D

Thank you for your work in Macau
I had seen your work in the Old Protestant Cemetery in Macau and am grateful for your effort in a place so distant to me.

FindAGrave memorial 166857224 for Mac Perrin

This advocation thrives because of the hearfelt efforts of searchers like you. So far all I've done is take contextual and specific images of headstones through the FindAGrave system.

I am questioning the request you have placed today for Mac Perrin. According to your request he died TODAY.

That is a first for me... Could you explain how that works or do you need to amend the Date of his demise??

The cemetery office won't have grave location for something like a month...

Keep up the good work!!

Anne Schultheis
I added other pictures, 2 names on the side who were misspelled "Schulteis" missing H, send edits. and Herman.

And those on her side.

Abraham Lincoln "linc" Stout
Hi Chris' thanks for all your information. I am interested in Abraham but perhaps not this Abraham. My great grandfather was Abraham Lincoln "Abe" Stout. My Abe was born around 1860 probably in Pennsylvania and buried near Niantic, Illinois. His wife was Mora Belle English. His Father was Ferdinand Stout and his mother was Anna Maria Dietrich. i cannot find any previous info on Ferdinand (Father, mother, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins...) I believe Ferdinand was from The German line of Stouts but I believe I am related to the Stout Line of this "Linc" Stout also. If you, or any reader, might have have information on Ferdinand (or any of this tangled web), please let me know.
