Thank you, Rachel for making the changes on Elizabeth's memorial.
I know (or believe) the stone says she died in 1832, but she lived to at least past 1860. I am currently doing some DEEP research to get it straightened out and I will let you know when I do.
Thank you again for being a great member of FindAGrave.

RE: Walter Clay
Well, I know of no Clay sons that would fit the time frame of the 1920's burial.

Thank you, I did get them..... They have me baffled.... I have had company for two weeks, so haven't looked into it any more lately. Could baby Walter Clay been relocated there when the plots were bought?

RE: Union Clear Creek Cemetery
Not sure work was done on any of the relatives you mentioned.
When I get back to Union, will have to look for those. Am slowly getting the pics of repaired stones posted. Thank you for adding!

RE: Walter Clay
Hmmm.... now you have me baffled.... Is there any purchase dates for the family plot or any of the individual plots??? I know that Homer Clay married Rebecca Jane Ray, 22 January 1881, and in my family records (mostly from my great aunt) I have Walter Clay 1881-1882. I do see that all the stones look similar. Is it possible that the stone for baby Clay was PURCHASED and placed in 1922, or thereabouts? I look in the site and see NO birth or death for 1921-1922 for a Clay that might fit this Walter Clay. And I am not finding a Clay descendant that fits that time frame for having a baby and losing it. To make matters worse, I just pulled out my Great Aunts notes, and she lists Walter Clay, born 28 October 1881, died 19 September 1882.... so the December/November months don't even match. Can you look for the purchaser of the other plots? I still wonder if they just bought the family plot in '22, since Homer was older, and passed away in '27???

RE: Clay family @ Oak Hill Cem. Richfield
Hi Rachel... yes, distantly related to the Clays on my Ray family side. This Walter Clay from 1881-1882 was son of Rebecca Ray & Homer Clay. Rebecca's father was Moses Ray (1834-1914). I am thinking the 1921-1922 record is in error, but I will have to do some research to see if there is anyone for sure.

I REALLY appreciate all you do for Oak Hill Cemetery and all of the families there!!!!

God Bless,

RE: Union Cemetery updates
Rachel, I will be happy to let you know as I post the repaired stones.
I do not know about the pile of stones, although there were some by the big Turner stone that has a new base.
The county supervisors award a small amount of money to the Pioneer Cemetery Commission of which I am one of the board members. We have 35 Pioneer cemeteries in the county and all need help. The ones we have worked on has been to first clear brush and fence. Some have had damage from livestock. Some repair is also done, but the money doesn't go far. We have had some donations from descendants if we can locate them, however, many have no one left. We try to clean stones, but there are not a lot of volunteers. They also allot money specifically for Veterans

We are also trying to get 911 signs on a number of Pioneer cemeteries yet this year.

Who are your relatives at Union Clear Creek?

Don't think there is anymore work scheduled there this year, unless we get some donations for specific work at Union.
Believe they want to remove a couple good sized trees near the back before those stones are repaired and or the trees go down. The cemetery is kept well mowed and trimmed.

Not aware of anything being on line re this.

Keep in touch,

RE: Union Cemetery updates
Hi Rachel, I also am so happy some of these stones are being repaired. The Pioneer Cemetery Commission recently did 13 at Union Cemetery. I will be posting those soon. The trustees at Union were going to pay to have a few more done, but think they have put that on hold for this year. They are many that need attention.
I too did my gr gr grandparents 3 years ago - I couldn't stand it any longer. So glad I did!

Thanks for all you do!

Frank Worwa
Thank you so much for filling in the plot information on the memorial for my uncle Frank Worwa. I just discovered that tonight and it touched my heart. I just wish he had a marker with his name on it. At least we know where he is now. Thank you for your kindness. It is greatly appreciated.
