Genealogy - isn't it addictive?
My mother's interest rubbed
off on me back in mid 1970.

She would visit relatives and as they
discussed relationships, she would write the info on a note pad and later type those notes so others could read them. Of course this was about 12 years before the introduction of personal computers.

I became somewhat interested by helping her
fill out a genealogy chart that was in a kit
she had purchased.

In addition to her visits to relatives, cousins, etc. she also visited the local library and read published genealogy books, and scrolled through the microfilm reels.

Times have sure changed. We still have books for research, but we can now search the US Census from our home computer and do so much more.

My research is mostly in Illinois, Kentucky,
Missouri, Tennessee and North Carolina.
