Bio and Links
Bio Photo We have just recently begun to 'dig' into the family history & have found it to be a very enjoyable & addictive hobby.

The rose in my picture is off of my father's headstone. He was a beautiful person who was taken from us too soon. I had but 28 years with him & would would give another 28 just to see him again for a single day. He knew the beauty in life was the simple pleasures in life; that being family.

It seems with each cemetery we visit & each grave we cross it's a quiet reminder that our time here is but a short breath on Earth.

We've seen headstones of loved ones past who were were very loved & much missed as well as plaques of family members long gone who never had the funds to show how much they were loved or how much they are missed.

We are not too proud to take that picture even though it was only a plaque stating name & date of birth & death. This too was a person once loved and cherished. Please if you come across this in your travels, remember these too were not only people from our past, but they were/are family, loved ones and part of history. They should be remembered & cherished no matter how grand or small they may have been.

We wish you well & hope you remember what brought you to being a volunteer on Find A Grave. For us it was the need & want to finding our loved ones that we carry on not only their names, but their blood, traits & joy of life. May you find peace within yourself & your journey.

Some family names we're researching are Keeler, Nasse, Babcock, Durr, John, Lee & Smith.

Hi Becky, you're welcome. Even though they have to be bittersweet memories for your Grandmother they become family treasures passed down from generation to generation. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Joseph & Sarah Lee
Just wanted to add a bit of family news also.... that the cemetery sexton of Gales Creek is Joanne Schmiddler (sp?) and Joseph & Sarah Lee happen to be her gp's or g/gp's (I can't remember which she said now) ...but it's a small world, lol.

Thank you so very much for taking the tombstone photo of Grace E. Geist.
It's such a wonderful act of genealogical kindness. Living in PA I doubt if I'd ever be able to get to Oregon for my family research.

Your a gem!!
