Hello Janet, May I use some of your photos of the Second Presbyterian Church in Charleston on my Ancestry.com tree? If so, I will, of course, give credit to Chinook, a Find a Grave Contributor. Thank you. I await your response. Becky

Good morning. I recently found the website Find A Grave and have been doing some research. I saw that in 2006 you left flowers for my grandmother, Elsie E. Shutter Sholly. What is your connection to my grandmother? Thank you, Susan
|Barbara Jackson||Fulton genealogy|
Have been researching Fultons for some time now. Have a book from a lady in Indiana who has done extensive research on this family. Will be glad to exchange info. Also have information on Truex/Truax family.
I just finished writing a book about my parents. In the book, there is a story about the second wife of my great-grandfather Joe Godsby Spears.
His second wife was Martha Florence Spears (her maiden surname and her married surname was Spears).
The story is that Florence, as she was always called, fell in love with a young man by the name of Luther Presley from parts unknown. Luther Presley was on his way to marry Florence when her father cajoled her into marrying Joe Spears, her first cousin, once removed, to help him raise the children from Joe's first marriage. Luther and Florence supposedly, as the story goes, met at a college for prospective teachers, maybe in Tennessee. Is there such a story in Luther's history?

I was hoping to hear from you about the arrangements to put Dr Fuller's journal and medical notes, as well as other interesting things in your possession from Mrs Porter of Rolling Prairie.
Was hoping to meet you in person to hand over the items and have a conversation with Mrs Porter who knew them personally. I don't feel it is fair for her to pay for postage to mail these items. She and I plan a trip to Rolling Prairie soon anyway, so we will offer them to the local historical society if I don't hear from you within a few days. Or I may contact a different family member.

Sorry that I have not responded sooner. I have been visiting my granddaughters in south Texas this past week.
I told Marcia Porter, who holds the diary and medical journal of Dr. Fuller, of your interest. She is very excited to pass these gems along to family. She would like your email address because she has other interesting memories of Dr & Mrs Fuller to share with you. I am a caregiver for Mrs Porter, who I have found to be the most amazing woman that I have ever met. She is in her late 80s with a huge sense of humor. Marcia is a retired newspaper editor for the LaPorte paper.
She told me that she would like to meet with you at the Beanery in Rolling Prairie when you are in the area. She doesn't drive anymore, but I am more than happy to drive her up to meet with you.
|Suzy Robinson||Dr Carl David Fuller|
Hi, I am a caregiver for a lady, Marcia Porter, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She has in her possession a diary of Dr Carl David Fuller. She also has his medical ledger and his notes from medical college. Mrs. Porter would be pleased if these items would be returned to direct descendants of Dr. Fuller. I see on his Memorial Page that you created that Dr. Fuller is your husband's 2nd great grandfather. Please let me know how you want to proceed.
As a family genealogist myself, I would be so excited to get these back in the family!!!
In my genealogy research of my Grandfather, I discovered a possible connection to Frank Yoder of Syracuse, Indiana.
Could you please reach out to me via my email address so we can look into this further? It would be greatly appreciated.

I've been going through the family genealogy and adding cemetery info to folks to discover that Mary (Fulton) Cyphers had connections to her parents and through them her siblings. Information that you added. That'd make us some sort of cousins?
I am out of Marys' marriage to Paul Cyphers via their daughter Hannah Rettie (went by Retta) who married Louis Gunn Harper and had several children, one of whom is Lauretta Harper, who is my g-grandmother. She married James William Martin and had 7 daughters and 1 son (he died in infancy). My grandmother was Pearl Ann Martin who married Truman Jack Stowell.
I have now added Mary Fultons' parents and siblings to my family tree maker. :)
