Bio

The day I found Find a Grave, I was on a grave hunting trip to Pennsylvania, dragging my long-suffering husband, John, with me while I took hundreds of digital photos of family graves! I also have a shoebox sized file box of "analog" photos, as well as records of other burials in places I have never visited! Since then, I have uploaded all my new photos and scanned most of my old ones! It's been a labor of love. Occasionally, I still find entries I've made that contain a note saying I plan to scan and upload a photo at a later time, if you see one of these, please drop me a note reminding me to do so. Obviously I have missed it.

I have been working on my family history since 1996, and most of my contributions are my own dead relatives, but I've always loved cemeteries, and sometimes I think my obsession with genealogy is just an excuse to walk thru old graveyards!

I also have (or can scan) better copies of most of the grave photographs that I have posted here. In the past, Find a Grave limited the size of the photos we could upload, so most of my older pictures are edited to make them smaller. Please email me if you would like me to send you a larger copy!

I'm also on Twitter & Facebook now if anyone is interested!

Also feel free to contact me with corrections or additions to the info I've posted or to request transfers of your relatives memorials. I have recently changed the email address that I use for Find a Grave due to problems with AOL blocking the notifications from this site. I'm going to say right here that I ALWAYS give permission for people to use my FaG photos for your own research or to share elsewhere for genealogy or other research related websites, but I would really appreciate a note attached to the file saying where you found the pictures! I have started seeing a lot of the photos I've uploaded here shared on Ancestry.com without attribution. I WANT to share, but it bothers me that so many people are using pictures without bothering to say where they got them!

I love the automatic correction options and I try to check several times a week for new edits! I added a lot of my memorials long before we were able to connect family members, so I'm counting on you all to send me corrections that make it easier to show family connections! I also tried the Photo Transcription option for the first time recently and loved how easy it made it to add several photos quickly!

Don't be afraid to ask for transfers of any of your family graves I might have entered. My personal policy is much more liberal than the official Find a Grave policy. Generally, I'll transfer anyone who is not a close relative to me!
