Bio

Some of my earliest memories are of going with my mom and visiting cemeteries. We would have bags of seeds and flower bulbs that we would plant on graves. She would choose the grave and we would get down to the business of planting. I often wonder if our plantings were still blooming. I especially remember planting bulbs in the shape of a cross on my grandparents graves.

As I entered my young teens I worked at a funeral home in Warren, Michigan. What a great job that was, I loved it. No children to care for and I made more money than any of my friends I answered the phone and made arrangements for the body to be transported. Why I never went in mortuary science I will never know.

I am our family historian. I have received so many wonderful family histories for safe keeping. My husband has made many a family DVD's for the different branches on our family tree. One day while visiting with my dad he took me to the barn to retrieve a family trunk. I was so thrilled to open it and find a trove of photos, certificates and personal items. I never knew that trunk even existed.

I am a member of our local historical society and have assisted in many a search for others. I love finding info that had been lost for ages.

I am the mother of two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandson. My grandchildren call me Nan. After my great grandson was born I was bestowed the name "Nan the Great". Life is good.
