Bio and Links
Bio Photo My love of cemeteries began when I was a young girl and my great-grandmother took me up on the hill to the cemetery. She called it the "family cemetery", and I have called it that ever since. I believe we can honor our loved ones even after they are gone from us.

For you:

"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

RE: Boon Ballard, Pleasant Ridge Cem., Harrison Co., MO
I found the pictures for the Ballards in my Mullins folder. Boon was not there. I am thinking either a book or a genealogical society publication had the picture. I have done a Google search and there are several copies of the picture in Ancestry, but some cite my posting in Find A Grave as the source. Do not lose heart I have been doing genealogy since 1980 and I never give up:-)

Pam, Regarding the picture of Boon Ballard, I have gone through all my Ballard records and correspondences and can find nothing as to the origin of that photograph. I am usually pretty thorough about keeping records, but this one has me baffled. I will continue to search my Perry, Cook, Mullins, and Ballard folders to see if it is misfiled.

Thank you so much for bringing these to my attention.I thought i had already deleted the one about Halstead. Ouch! My dates were not even matching.I did not realize how big & serious this story was at the beginning when i starting connecting my ancesters to this. I deleted all the Memorials up to my GGGrandpa.Hopefully someone will create one for those people that have the knowledge.F.A.G. is a great history book for all of us.I have started fixing my memorials,and putting people in Burial Unknown. Also i have seen comments about even the book on Kith & Kin are wrong because they supposedly went through land deeds & transactions to connect people,events, this is beyond me.It hurts when you get your toes stepped on,but i needed a fresh boost,Especially on this one. Sorry you will have to delete my first message i hit a wrong button.I do not like Rudeness,or Hatefulness, i see so much of this in comments. over Rules,Transfers ect. Claws actually come out in here,Brave People they leave them on there for everyone to see. Thanks for the Help.

Adam Miller
Pam, just realized I made a mistake in saying that the stone found was that of Elizabeth Miller. It was for one of her children. Sorry about that.

Adam Miller
Pam, I am not so sure Adam is buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Several years back The Harrison Co., Genealogical group did a very extensive study of the cemeteries in the county. They used all surveys ever done, any records that may have been kept by cemetery officials, obits, visits with old residents, just any means that would assist in the study. For each person they could confirm, they listed any spouse, parents or whom ever and indicated if no stone found, In Pleasant Ridge some stones have been dug up since. One I know of is for Elizabeth Miller, Jacob's wife, which is hardly readable, but enough to know it is hers. The stone you show on the memorial does not look as tho it has been buried. I doubt that it is for Adam and perhaps no Miller.

You may not be aware that Adam Miller remarried on 29 April 1864 in Daviess Co. to a Mary Nelson and they lived in Daviess Co. If he was brought back to Harrison Co. for burial is a question.

There were nine burials confirmed for Millers in Pleasant Ridge and I can give you the list if you are interested. Just let me know.
Thanks. Louise
