Bio

I'll be forever grateful to my high school English teacher, Marjory Ann Pease Sharp, FAG Memorial #117584719, for beginning my interest in genealogy. She assigned a Four Generation Pedigree Chart as homework--and my Great Grandmother, Eva Alta Jackson Yeokum, FAG Memorial #20165966, lived next door and helped me fill it in the night before it was due.

I started recording cemeteries on FAG when I was working as a traveling nurse anesthetist (empty nest, ya know) because I like the outdoors, exercise, photography, and wanted to preserve/share the information that I was finding--especially in some of the older, rural, "forgotten" cemeteries.

I believe my photos have improved over time with experience, a better camera, and tips from others--the sun and types of stone still "get" me sometimes, though--if you get a better photo than mine, please let me know and I will delete mine. I foolishly used chalk in the beginning...upon revisiting some of the same cemeteries, I can thankfully see no damage to the stones...I am trying to remove those photos as I review my memorials. Also, please let me know if a permanent marker is added and I will remove photos of temporary markers—I add temporary marker photos & their GPS to help with permanent location of the grave, and sadly sometimes temporary becomes permanent.

From some of the suggested edits that I receive, I can see everyone likes set up memorials differently...please be kind and allow us all to do how we please. Remember we are in this together! Thank you. ;)
