Bio

Born & raised in Fall River, home of the Battleship Massachusetts Museum, Marine Museum, Historical Society, former cotton textile manufacturer of the world, Fall River Line Steamship Authority and yes, home of the infamous Lizzie Borden.

Son of the late Joseph & Marilyn Ann (Foley) Raposa and grandson of the late Joseph & Josephine (Mattos) Raposa and the late James & Cecile Emelda (Bernier) Foley.

I was raised in the Saints Peter & Paul, Saint Anne & Saint Mary parish church areas. My sister is Lori Ann (Raposa) Albernaz & my nephew Jacob J. Albernaz of Tiverton, Rhode Island.

A 1974 graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School I attended Rhode Island College in Providence, RI. & New England Technical Institute.

In 1971 at age 13 I became involved with The Little Theatre of Fall River during their production of Fiddler on the Roof. At age 20 another theater journey began, that lead to my founding of The People's of Theatre of Fall River, Inc. During these times I was involved in many productions with many groups until 1985.

In 1985 I relocated to Boston/Brighton then Charlestown and for 17 years in Everett until 2011. Life throws us many a curve. In March of 2006, my mother, my friend, passed away unexpectedly. This void created by her passing will never be filled. Long before her passing I was always interested in my family history, the good, the bad and the ugly. We all have it!

I find comfort by visiting Find A Grave memorials and it has always amazed me with the different ways people memorialize their loved ones. In addition to being an member of Ancestry.com and (NEGHS) New England Historical Genealogical Society, I continue to research my roots and assist others doing the same. Being a photo volunteer for Find A Grave keeps me busy and I enjoy helping others with their requests, while learning interesting facts along the way.

In July 2011 I moved back to the Fall River area after 27 years of living in the Boston area.
