David Lee Alderman (Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery)
Hello Caroline;
I've added a gravesite photograph to Findagrave for David Lee Alderman in the Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery. I don't know if he was part of the
Alderman family whose gravestone photos I added recently in response to your long-standing photo requests. I discovered the temporary marker for David while tracking down some other graves.

This cemetery has over 70 open gravestone photo requests, some dating back 4-5 years -- a circumstance that I discovered accidentally, as I have not been registered as a photo volunteer on F-A-G for about ten years. Apparently there is no photo volunteer in this area. When I was a registered volunteer, I was in Prattsburgh Rural many times, so I am somewhat familiar with it, and in a pinch I can go to the Prattsburgh Town Clerk who has the master map (hand-drawn on a large sheet of cardboard) to get the location coordinates. I decided to re-register, at least temporarily, to track down as many of those 70 graves as I can reasonably do in three or four sessions of grave-hunting. I've found about 30 or 35 so far, and that's how I stumbled across this temporary gravesite marker. Thought you might like to have it added to his Findagrave entry.
Cheers from the Curmudgeon,

RE: Andrew Paul
OK i'll take them on but I am not convinced that they are Ira's son. I need you to do me a favor and get James Paul listed as the son of Ira and Mary. Even tho I am in charge of their Find A Grave memorial's, I can't add anything, don't know why and I am not going to ask Karma or Dave whichever he is now, to do it because he wouldn't do it 2 years ago when we had a pretty heavy discussion about my family and the info he had on Find A Grave for them. So if you could send an edit for him, I would appreciate it very much.

No, I'll have to check that out. It is a hard family to trace back beyond Ira, Mary Pierce goes back to the Mayflower. I haven't found many people tracing the Paul line. Yes I have Sorry you aren't related to my Mary Pierce. Thanks for your help. Are you from the Steuben, Chemung area? Most of my mother's side of the family is from there. I live in Ontario Co. NY.

Is your Mary Ann Pierce the same as mine?

RE: Andrew Paul
I sent a message to Karma last night, not realizing it was Dave and he answered me this morning and offered to transfer Ira and Mary to me, so I said yes, and he did. I don't mind if other people put up a memorial for a member of my family, but at least let me get the info on it correct, that is all I want. I just get upset with some of them that go and get a cemetery list and just start entering info, and then when you have more info or you have also done a memorial without knowing they have; and yours has more info and dates, etc., they want you to turn over your memorial to them because they had it first even if it is not correct or family. Most of my family is in there now and my husbands. Most people are very nice. Thanks for taking Andrew off.

RE: Andrew Paul
Hello Caroline,
You don't need to delete the memorial for Andrew, you just need to unlink him from Ira and Mary Paul. He still belongs to someone. One of Ira's brother's could have come from VT with him and settled in Woodhull. I had enough trouble tracing Ira and Mary and their Ancestors and descendants that I didn't try to trace any brothers. That time frame in NY is so hard to research. Thank you for taking care of this. There are other's who have made memorial's on this family that are not so co-operative. There is another son of Ira and Mary's that is not linked to them, maybe you could do that for me, as the person who owns the memorial wants me to show him proof I what I say. The son is James Paul and that is my 3rd great grandfather and he was married to Polly Paul who is also buried in Presho. Polly has a stone, but James does not. James Find A Grave # is:154469674 and Polly's Find A Grave # is: 120496343. I guess they are connected on Find A Grave, but James is not connected to his parents. I guess Dave Latham has changed his Find A Grave name to KARMA and he won't change or connect anything for me. Thanks. Lanah De Witt
