I began to seriously work on my family history in 1993 and spent much time working on submissions of my entire Kahle family (hundreds and hundreds of people) to the late Rev. Frederick Weiser for his 1995 3 volume book, Weiser Families in America. Initially I had resumed study of my family history for the purpose of finally gathering the documents needed to join the D.A.R. and the Weiser project really helped get me moving. I am now a D.A.R. member, with grand total so far of seventeen Revolutionary War veteran ancestors. Occasionally, as a courtesy, I add a grave of someone I am not related to but is of interest to me or/and I have a family link to that family. Sometimes, I come across a really interesting monument and imagine that someone out there will be thrilled to see it if I take a photo. If a descendant or close relative of those people request it, I will be happy to transfer management of those graves. I rather prefer to hang on to my direct ancestors if I submitted them because I then have the ability to change any information later found that sheds more light on the subject or corrects any error.

I retain ownership of the images, except for those I reproduced WITH CONSENT of the owner(s) (such as Judy King) & this includes uploading images to your public family tree that is then reproduced other places without mention of the original source. Recently, as an investigative hobby and a way to help preserve history, I began buying (and receiving as gifts) old photos of other peoples' families at auctions. If I am able to identify the subjects with certainty, I now upload them to F.A.G. if they have memorials. Therefore. not all of the portraits I share are my own relatives.
I am grateful to all the people who posted photographs and information that have helped me and I am thrilled to make contact with others who research the same families. Through the internet, I have met so many wonderful, generous and intelligent people who share my interest and passion for historical accuracy, documentation and good genealogical manners.
