"Born and raised" in East Texas, I became involved with the Find-A-Grave project in 2014. My participation began as a response of sincere appreciation for the efforts of other volunteers and contributors who had entered records and taken photographs of final resting places of loved ones buried at church cemeteries and rural cemeteries where most of my family is laid to rest, especially in East Texas. Even more, I began this endeavor to help my genealogy karma. I am presently entering and updating records for my ancestors and their families ~ who are laid to rest all over Marshall and Scottsville, Texas, as well as for persons within the communities and towns around Harrison County, Texas. In tandem with my work, I believe that the work of other contributors will help me find my family's loved ones & their resting places. In kind, I believe my work will result in the same rewards for others searching for their loved ones. It is my goal to begin taking photographs in these areas, as well as in northeast Texas and for other cemeteries in areas wherever I may be visiting.
