I think we might be in the same Snoke family. My great grandfather was Henry Clay "Pete" Snoke (Wife Eva I. Cooper m. Aug 10, 1921 in Lafayette Co., Indiana).. Henry's parents were William Amos & Mary (Fodge) Snoke (m. Apr 30, 1880).. William's parents were Christian F. & Susanah (Bechtelheimer) Snoke (m. Sep 9, 1858 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana).

hi, Erich!
I was early for a get together and filled my time reading the memorial plaques. I was a peacetime Screaming Eagle (81-87) and usually look for military guys and gals. I noticed the date by Lt. Arthur H Buchman and was curious if he was a Screaming Eagle. I searched on his name and got to the excellent posting in an ancestry forum. There was an appeal to locate relatives for possible DNA matches. Before I start searching for who had the plaque put up, I wanted to see if you or whoever is still trying to reach relatives. Anyhow, thanks for keeping those guys memories alive.

Capt Snoke's memorial
Thank you Erich for allowing us to read the story of Capt Donald Snoke. I am sure this was not an easy memorial to write nor is it any easy one to read. I often wonder how these brave men survived as long as they did under such unbearable conditions. We Americans must never forget the true dedication of our men in this war to save our nation. Blessings to you and your family.

{{{This may or may not help, and maybe you've previously looked. Check Type in his name. Born in Surry, England, about 1665. He arrived in Virginia about 1683. He died in Virginia in 1721. His father was George Stovall and mother was Joan Tickner. His wife was Susannah ' Anne' Burton. They were married about 1693. It seems they had 7 kids, George, William, Hannah, John, Margaret, Harbor, and Elizabeth. Some of this information I got from as well.

Hi Erich,

Thank you SO much! This is so much more than I've ever found! You've given me a lot to go by.

I'm not a member of, but I may join now.

Regardless, you have provided me with more information in a few days than I've been able to find in over 25 years.

Thank you again, Erich. I truly appreciate it!

God bless and keep you safe,

RE: Sponsorship for Clevie Snoke
{{{I really don't know what to say. I'm deeply touched by your gesture. The words 'Thank you' just don't seem adequate, but Thank you.

Erich Snoke}}}

Hello Erich,

Thank you is more than enough. I'm honored and humbled to sponsor Mrs. Snoke. Reading her biography ... well sometimes something in one of them gets to me and I feel like I just have to sponsor that person if they aren't already.

Clevie Snoke sounded like a "grand lady", as my late Dad would have said, and that is a wonderful compliment!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

God bless and take care,
