Marguerite Elinor Barber: Obituary The last surviving member of five children, Marguerite Elinor Barber passed away peacefully at Rose Villa on February 20 at the grand age of 102. Born in Maurice Iowa in February 1909, Marguerite completed business training in Sioux City (1929). She married Joel Barber in 1938, they moved to Portland, and over the years lived and housed friends and family in Seattle, San Francisco, Reno, and Washington D.C. She remained employed until her retirement in 1973 having worked for such firms as H.J. Heinz; Encinal Terminals; Peat, Marwick & Mitchell and the U.S. Government. During and after the war she was a manager of WWII supply transport. Widowed since 1971, Marguerite has been a resident at Rose Villa since 1981 and has spent her retirement volunteering. Roy Scott Bush #126787550
I have a question as to the birth information on FindAGrave that you created. I have not found a birth record for Roy Scott Bush, but from the only record I have found regarding a birth date was his WWI registration Card giving the birth date 4 February 1889 Lodi, Seneca, New York. In the photo on FindAGrave the headstone is 1889-1940. Yet the birth information states: 7 Jun 1881. Do you know what source you used to place that birth information there? I believe it should be changed to reflect 4 February 1889. Other secondary sources like the 1905 New York State Census also point to 1889. US Census 1910, 1930, and 1940 also give 1889 birth year. US Census 1900 and 1920 give 1890.
There is clearly a problem and I don't know why know one else has caught this. I have look into families trees with this individual and they relied on the Find A Grave as a source for the birth date. Looking forward to your reply.
