Bio

I am an amateur historian at heart. After I discovered the Find A Grave website, I felt much gratitude to those who served as contributors. I feel that visiting a gravesite is a way of paying my respects to someone, either famous or non-famous, for having contributed to our history. I appreciate Jim Tipton's Find A Grave website as a means of permitting many people to do that without incurring significant expenses. I also look upon this website as a source of historical reference material. For these reasons, I decided to become a contributor of text and photos. Because I have developed a great interest in Japan in recent years, I have sought to have that nation well represented. In this regard, I have gotten much help from Mr. Akira Komatsu, Suwa-city, Nagano, (L) and Mr. Daiju Omura, Yokohama-city, Shinagawa, (R) who have unselfishly assisted me with research and permitted me to contribute pictures of theirs to Find A Grave. I also thank Dr. Mark Jewel of Tokyo's Waseda University for the use of several of his pictures.
