RE: Wendell T Zimmerman
Dear Adam

Many thanks for your prompt reply. Are you a relative of W T Zimmerman? From my research, he was a very early pioneer of rugby in the USA, for example playing for the Marines against what I think was the first game of rugby by the New York Rugby Club.

Do you have the documents as soft copies? If so, would it be possible to have a copy?

I would be more than happy to share what I have, a few team photos and some Chinese newspaper match reports (in English).

I am based in the UK but have visited the Marines archive in Quantico to gather material for my book.

Where are the service files held? Would all US military personnel files be held there. I am very keen to try to trace the military movements of the Shanghai based rugby playing US 4th Marines who left Shanghai in November 1941 to fight in the famous battle of Corregidor in the Philippines and ended up on the infamous Bataan Death March.

Best Regards

Wendell T Zimmerman
I am researching about W T Zimmerman in connection with a book I am writing about the China Marines and their rugby exploits and subsequent playing for the Marines at rugby in the USA.

I notice that you posted a photo of him. Do you have any other images or information?

Where did you find the photo of John B. Babcock? Is it from old army website, archive or relative of Babcock? Can I use the photo for my historical research on US intrenching tools Civil War to WW1, that will hopefully be published sometime this year.I would like to correctly add its attribution under his picture.

RE: Myron Thomas
Wow, his uniform was at auction? How interesting. Well, as I said, he was a nice man; and even out of uniform he had a military air about him.

Hi Adam,

I noticed that you posted a photo of my cousin Myron here on findagrave. Are you a relative? I have a few questions, if you are.

I have fond memories of Myron and Catherine. Such sweet people.

Myron's grandmother Alvira Tyler Thomas was a sister to my mom's paternal grandfather Charles Tyler.

I was wondering if there was any stories from his Navy career during WWII. My cousin was on the ship that he allegedly commanded the USS Navajo that was sunk by a Japanese Submarine in the Pacific.

RE: Harry Earl Biscoe
Thanks very much, Adam, I really appreciate your assistance. I have lots of research yet to do and can see this project taking quite a while. If you google "Paymaster Biscoe" and read any of the news articles that pop up, you will get some sense of this story. The behind-the-scenes political connections go to the top of the government.

Thanks again,

Harry Earl Biscoe

I noticed that you have added a photograph to Harry Earl Biscoe's memorial. Can you tell me where you found it? I am his first cousin, three times removed, and am writing his biography. Any references to his life would be helpful.

Thank you,

John Davis
