|Robert McLernon||James Leonard|
My name is Robert McLernon. I have researched the Irish Brigade for 32 years. Part of this work has been to track down burial sites of men of the brigade. James A Leonard (142437109) appears in the roster of the 88th New York Volunteer Infantry: "James A. Leonard age 20 years. Enlisted at New York City, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Company F, on January 31, 1862. Died of disease on September 27, 1862, at Annapolis, Md." He appears in a list I maintain of 88th New York unconfirmed burials. He is in this list because he appears in a Roll of Honor for U. S. General Hospital Division Number 1, Annapolis, Maryland. Efforts I made to confirm his burial in Annapolis National Cemetery were negative. A phone call I made to Annapolis National Cemetery was negative. If he was buried in Annapolis N.C., then known as Ash Grove? Cemetery, he was most likely disinterred and removed, location unknown.

My Name is Steven Miller. I am the eldest grandson of Anna. I noticed my aunt Ella is not listed in the internments for the Martinsburg Amish Cemetery which I find odd as she was the very first person to be buried there. Also my grandfather Eli is buried there and his findagrave memorial number is 140452901.
If you would transfer Grandma's memorial to me, I would be very honored. Thank you kindly.

I was just in Dudley cemetery and took a photo of his headstone. I checked before creating a memorial and noticed you have it in Olive cemetery & I've uploaded the photo there.
Let me know if you see this msg?

If you look at the Forest Rose Database, her parents were Frank Camp and Florence Camp Hamilton so her mother must have remarried. Her brother was Loys Camp.
|Eliot||Re: Joan Fischer Targ & Regina Pustan|
I’m writing about two memorials that you’ve created. Regina Wender Fischer Pustan, memorial # 115336619 and Joan Fischer Targ, memorial # 115336840.
For Regina you listed, “Body donated to medical science. Specifically: body donated to Stanford University Medical School.” For Joan you listed, Burial: Unknown.
Joan and I scattered Regina’s ashes from an airplane off the coast of California south of Half Moon Bay. A year latter Joan’s daughter Elisabeth Fischer Targ, Memorial# 172673712 and I scattered Joan’s ashes in the same spot. I’m quite sure of this because in both cases I was flying the plane.
Regina and Joan were both very dear friends to me and so it would be wonderful if you could updated the burial information. Or, if you’d like, you could transfer management of the memorials to me and I’d take care of it.

|Mark Smith||RE: George Mahlon Meyers|
This has been bugging me ha. I went to the funeral home that performed George Jr's service and had them look up George Sr, they said Maple Hill Cemetery. But, when I got home I started questioning if she missed the Jr/Sr even though I pointed it out. Two visits to Maple Hill and neither time could find someone to check records. I asked the President of the Pontius Church Board to check their records. They have no record of George Sr, or Beatrice being buried there. He also asked the congregation in church service if anyone recalled Sr's burial and nobody could.
The funeral procession would not have gone Rt 22 to Pontius or Maple Hill unless there was construction on Stoutsville Pike. The only cemetery on Rt 22 is Dutch Hollow, 10 mi from Circleville. Mahlon Meyers's grandparents are buried there in the old side by the church. Sr's death index says he was born in Illinois in 1916, but does not name his father. I believe he is the gr grandson of Mahlon Meyers who is buried in Maple Hill. I am working on proving that. Mahlon's father was George and Mahlon had a son Charles who's son George was born in abt 1890, the perfect age to be Sr's father, but I haven't found a document linking them yet. The name Mahlon is just unusual enough that they have to be related, to much coincidence in having both names and being in Pickaway County.

Ok, assuming that Beatrice was buried there too and she died earlier, I wonder if the marker was taken back to do his engraving and never returned? There is no base in that area without a marker, and only a couple markers at the back at all. I don't suppose you remember what funeral home performed the service do you? I could contact them if I knew which one. Was George Sr. the grandson of Mahlon Meyers do you know?
|Mark Smith||George Mahlon Meyers|
I have a question about George and Beatrice Meyers Find A Grave Memorial# 103278413(George). You have them buried in Pontius Chapel Cemetery, but there are no markers for either of them there. I am presently doing restoration work on Pontius Cemetery and am trying to get photo's on all memorials of those buried there. Do you have a death certificate or other document that may help me locate them? Is it possible both were buried there without markers of any kind? Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are a descendant of theirs, I would love to have some lineage information, on George especially. I have a client who is a Meyers descendant and would probably like to contact other relations.
