Bio

Born and raised in NYC, I was a professional actress and voice over artist for 13 years before going back to school to pursue veterinary medicine due to my deep love and respect for animals and became a vet tech for 5 years. I currently own my Voice Over business (20 years now) as well as Vet Tech/Pet Care business (3 years now) in beautiful Kanab, Utah, and live with my husband and our cats and dogs.

I am a descendant of John Howland (Mayflower) and Henry "The Quaker" Howland, who arrived in Plymouth just after his brother in the 1620s. My grandmother Susanna North was one of the "witches" burned at Salem. My ancestors were prominent in fighting and winning against the British during the Revolutionary War and later against slavery in the Civil War. I'm a member of the Mayflower Society, Descendants of Early American Witches, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Union Veterans.

I am the only descendant of famous high-end casino proprietor and esteemed art collector and advisor to Charles Freer of Smithsonian's Freer Gallery, my great grandad Richard Albert Canfield, and his mother, my great great grandmother Julia Ann Akin of the New Bedford, Massachusetts Akin House and formerly Akin Harbor. My great granddad "Dick" and my great grandmom Genevieve Wren Martin bore my grandmother Grace Martin Canfield (and her brother Howland who died in his early '20s). Grace and my grandfather Martin Hannon Sr bore my dad Martin Edward Hannon Jr, known as "Ted". My dad and my mom, Mary Ann Pietro, bore me! Grace was Dick's only child who had only one child, Ted, who had only one child, me. Genevieve was very important to my dad as she helped raise him, so I was named in her honor. I am not only Richard Albert Canfield's only living descendent, but I am the end of his line as well, as I have furry kids, not human.

I am mostly of Irish descent, with a large portion of English/Scottish and Welsh, and a small amount of Italian. I treasure my family history and enjoy tracing it. I am happy to share my ancestry.com tree with anyone who is interested. It's great to share info. I am an avid family historian and love others who also are! All my very best, Genevieve
