Fallen Graver

Sadly, Mary Palmer has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

Please take time to read findagrave rules and please do not leave an obit on a page created by me in the flower section; Thank you.

If you should find errors in anything I have submitted, please contact me for updates and corrections. If you wish to add anything to the bio for anyone please let me know. I will be glad to add to the submissions or if in your family consider transfer to you. Thank you.

It really bothers me to see unmarked graves and graves with names but no dates; makes me want to find their families; some I do, some I don't. I wish I had enough money to replace all the monuments that need replaced and add those who don't have a marker! I would happily do so. After being in some of the cemeteries and seeing how many of the monuments are due to environmental conditions, etc; it has encouraged me to photograph and get as much documentation as is there because in future years; at least what is there now will be known and people able to see on findagrave.

Mark Cook a cousin, Jan W Smith, a cousin and I have been working together on our genealogy and others the past few years. Since Jan is in the area he does a lot of photographs and Mark travels once or twice a year to do cemetery photo's also. I have taken many myself as well.

I've been working on our family genealogy for what seems a life time! I started as a youngster with my grandparents, aunts, uncles going to cemeteries taking information and visiting relatives and friends taking information. I am from Washington County, love it and miss it; however, don't like the changes!! But, it is still my home though I don't live there or get home often. I have two sons and two grandchildren and have been able to pass the genealogy "bug" to them and hope they will continue when I am no longer able or around to do so. Mary
