Bio and Links
I have recently retired from the public libary in Indianapolis. I hope to include cemtery "tramping" in my retirement activities.
I have explored many central Indiana cemteries, and a few in other states. When friends go on vacation they often bring me a picture of an interesting tombstone. I "love" our beautiful Crown Hill Cemetery and explore there often. My family is from Shelby County and Rush County, Indiana. I have many family members in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, IN and in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville, Indiana. I also have ancestors in Kentucky, New Jersey and Massachusetts. My Kentucky county is Pendleton.

Hargrove Cousin
Just wanted to say hello. Alexander Hargrove was brother to my ggg grandfather Reuben Hargrove, who left Indiana and went on to Kansas and Oregon. You'll find his memorial here also. I too was glad to find their father Benjamin's marker here on the website. I have a picture of your Alexander H. If you don't have one.

RE: Benjamin Hargrove
I only added the memorial information - the photo was taken and added by contributor 47605306, YNC USNRET who is in the process of photographing the entire cemetery. I really don't feel right about taking all the credit... please let him/her know how much it meant to you as well. Thanks ~

About the Hargrove burials -

According to the records I have available, Alexander M. and Mary J. Hargrove are on the same marker in Section 1 - Row 5; next to Sarah Hargrove Daggett and Armelia Hargrove Spurrier & husband, George. Then there's J. Finley and Cecelia Hargrove on the same marker, next to them.

I tried to put the burial plot location information on the memorials I entered. I may have missed one or two, so just ask if you don't see it.

Rachel Drake
I was searching Rachel Drake and saw that you created her memorial, Memorial #: 26039269, and that you have family in Shelby and Rush. Are you related to the Drakes? She would be my grandfather's great grandma I believe. I am trying to find more information about her so if you are related or know someone who is, I would love to talk.

RE: Raymie Hargrove
Thank you so much for making the changes I requested. I am only related to the Hargroves by marriage. My step-father is a Hargrove. I have part of his family included on my family tree and I was helping him with research on his tree. My family comes from this area (Clevenger, Muir, Ball, Abernathey) and I just recently moved here so I finally got to take my first trip to the library the other day to do some research. I came across the information on the Hargroves as I was looking for other information and I copied it so that I could see if it somehow fit to the Hargroves that I have in my family tree. If you are interested I would love to trade information with you and see if we might find a link. My email address is Email me with your email address and I will send you an invitation to my online tree so that you can view it. Thank you again.

Malcolm Newkirk
I see you created a memorial for Nora Newkirk and I wondered if you happen to know the disposition of her husband's body. While uploading photos from Section 11 at East Hill, I came across their stone and his missing death date. I've since located his death date, but not sure if he is actually buried in East Hill or somewhere else. Any help would be appreciated.

Elizabeth Soule
Hello, noticed you believe you are related to George Soule through Elizabeth. I am also, and am doing serious research. Would you mind sharing your line?
If you answer this, I will be glad to do the same!

THANKS Shelby County Girl, ever so much for the transfers. That was very thoughtful of you. I look forward to adding bits and pieces of new information to the family.
