I have always been interested in family history and genealogy, as well as local, state, regional and U.S. history. I have been so thankful for information I've found online when others have provided it, so want to do my fair share. Will add photos when possible. |
I have photographed most of my family gravestones from various cemeteries and if possible will try to find them for others if able at the time of the request. Due to health problems, I have not been able to do as much as I'd like.
IF I have created a Memorial for a friend or family member of yours and you want me to transfer ownership, please let me know.
I rarely create a Memorial Page unless it's for a relative or someone who is close to my family; I try to guard against publishing sensitive material that might embarrass anyone and I also try to link Family Members whenever possible.
I believe it is a matter of respect to any person's life to hold the responsibility of their Memorial Page and to present the details of their life as accurately as possible.
Not all FAG Contributors always show respect for each individual life, and I really hate that. Sadly, a few contributors are downright careless and/or sloppy and do not verify details. Thankfully, the majority of contributors do try to show respect for the life of the deceased and strive for accuracy.
I try to verify details as much as possible, from Family Members and/or Obituaries and Ancestry.com and other genealogical sites. If I have made any mistakes, I appreciate it when it is brought to my attention so I can correct them.
I have verified as many of the dates and relationships as possible on Ancestry.com or FamilySearch.org, from old newspaper clippings, or through Family Knowledge that has been passed down.
My heart goes out to those who have lost the ones they most love.
And a HUGE Thank You to all who contribute to Find-a-Grave. I am very grateful for all your hard work!

I came across his death certificate and it shows he was cremated in Bloomington, In at the South Central Indiana Crematory.
Thanks for sending the below obituary. Unfortunately, the obituary is for George Dugan who died in 1909 and was buried in Kansas City, while the memorial is for Augustus Dugan (75141945) who died in 1922. Thanks for trying! It is always nice to have obituaries.

I may be mistaken but I believe that all of her children are linked to your memorial, not the other one. If that truly is the case, all involved will want to be sure the children get linked appropriately.

Thank you, Joyce, for your quick answer. Scott W. Harvey is my 3rd cousin 2x removed. Our common ancestor is William Harvey, 1749-1836, Revolutionary War soldier, married to Lenah Gentry. I am from their son William's line. (William, William, Galen, Galen, Alexander, my father, me) Scott is from their son Marmaduke's line. (William, Marmaduke, Marmaduke, John W., Scott W.) Thanks for asking. And yes, I would definitely like to have a copy of that article about the monument. Dan

Hi Joyce. Thank you so very much for sending this article about Scott Wilber Harvey. I have added it to my database. I really appreciate your taking the time to send this to me. If you happen to be out near where Scott's grave and monument are, would you mind taking a photo of both his grave and the monument and sending them to me? Thanks again. Dan

Hey there! Me again! I sent you a friend request on Facebook so we can take our conversation to private messaging. Look for me. I've been digging around some more and it looks like Marilda is Jane Hollaway. Maybe she was Marilda Jane Hollaway.(?) On my great uncles's Delayed Birth Certificate form his mother is listed as Jane Hollaway but on the 1900 census his mother is listed as Marilda so that would explain why we were having trouble finding anything on her.

Thank you, Joyce, for jump starting my genealogy bug again! It looks like your ex's may indeed be related to my Shipwashes! I am so very excited but I have to go out right now and I hate to have to leave! Haha! That's the part I hate! Talk to you later! [https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MSD3-K93]
