I have always been interested in family history and genealogy, as well as local, state, regional and U.S. history. I have been so thankful for information I've found online when others have provided it, so want to do my fair share. Will add photos when possible. |
I have photographed most of my family gravestones from various cemeteries and if possible will try to find them for others if able at the time of the request. Due to health problems, I have not been able to do as much as I'd like.
IF I have created a Memorial for a friend or family member of yours and you want me to transfer ownership, please let me know.
I rarely create a Memorial Page unless it's for a relative or someone who is close to my family; I try to guard against publishing sensitive material that might embarrass anyone and I also try to link Family Members whenever possible.
I believe it is a matter of respect to any person's life to hold the responsibility of their Memorial Page and to present the details of their life as accurately as possible.
Not all FAG Contributors always show respect for each individual life, and I really hate that. Sadly, a few contributors are downright careless and/or sloppy and do not verify details. Thankfully, the majority of contributors do try to show respect for the life of the deceased and strive for accuracy.
I try to verify details as much as possible, from Family Members and/or Obituaries and Ancestry.com and other genealogical sites. If I have made any mistakes, I appreciate it when it is brought to my attention so I can correct them.
I have verified as many of the dates and relationships as possible on Ancestry.com or FamilySearch.org, from old newspaper clippings, or through Family Knowledge that has been passed down.
My heart goes out to those who have lost the ones they most love.
And a HUGE Thank You to all who contribute to Find-a-Grave. I am very grateful for all your hard work!

Since you are so concerned about people's feelings, perhaps you should consider the living relatives and/or spouse BEFORE you start posting pictures of illegitimate children who represent nothing more than a leaky condom by a headstone for all the world to see. Surely there is a special place in hell for people like you that seek to destroy a wife of 54 years.
|Treva Jones Peckham||Jesse Starr|
Thank you for the information on Jesse Starr, I originally changed the date to match the stone but then I looked up the death certificate for him and realized that that stone was off. He died in Jefferson County at the State Hospital real early in the morning on the 18th.
I do thank you for the corrections and additional information that you do send me I want to get the memorials I have added over the years correct as possible. I do not get to work on it like I want to anymore as time is so limited.

Thanks for the info. on the Kelley's.
Hi Joyce, I noticed on Shirley Waggoner, that her brother was not listed in family links, looked him up. The only difference I found was that you have the mother listed first and then her dad, and it was reversed on his memorial. If you put the dad's memorial number first and then the mother's, would that show up on each of their memorials, listing Shirley on her brother's and listing her brother, Ervin on her memorial? I don't know if this makes any difference or not, just wondering. Thanks

No thanks, I don't need the memorial transferred. Bobby's family is from KY. Most of the Martin's are buried at Clay Hill Cemetery in KY. I have been there a couple of times. His two sisters still live down there.

Thanks for the info on how to load the picture on your memorial. I deleted mine and now he just has the one. Very easy I will have to remember this.

We both received info on a duplicate entry on William Davis. You have the obit from the paper and his parents info, but in the wrong cemetery. I have his stone, but no info at Crawford Cemetery. How can we merge the two. I can delete mine, but can you transfer all your info to Crawford Cemetery instead of Breckenridge. I will have to go take another photo of his stone and download again. Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks. #134382660 Wrong cemetery 146470977 Right cemetery

I see that there are two entries for the above gentleman and both have good information. Could these be merged: grave #134382660 & 146470977? I also saw that you have email contact with Marilyn Gayle Thompson Kimmel who did the Crawford Cemetery entry so perhaps you can work something out pretty easily.
I share many ancestors with you as I come across your name frequently in my research: Hillenburg, Kinser, Arthur, Houshour, etc. If I get the time, I want to document them back to Wythe Co and enter them (Kinser & Hillenburg) as "First Families" with the Wythe Co (VA) Genealogic Society.

Thanks for the information regarding Bobby Turner. My wife in from Bedford but we only get there for short visits. I appreciate any info. on any of the sites that I have posted in that area.
Thanks for all you do for Find A Grave.

Joyce, I really don't know much about these people, was just taking headstone photos and posting them with the info from the headstones. There could even be more relatives in Resthaven because I haven't even finished one section.
