Bio

I've been doing genealogy research for people since 1996. I am county coordinator for the MTGenWeb for Butte-Silver Bow County, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, and Powell County, Montana. I am also a volunteer at the Butte-Silver Bow Archives. My research for Deer Lodge & Powell Counties is somewhat limited as I don't live in those areas, but may have a resource available for some research.

I take photos of headstones/markers I come across while doing Find-a-Grave requests, and I especially like to take photos of the older headstones and markers to create a record of their existence. Many are getting so old they are not very legible. If you find errors with the information I have entered, I will be happy to make corrections. I will also be happy to transfer management to relatives of any of those for whom I have created memorials.

You are welcome to copy any photos I take for your personal use, however, a written request is always appreciated. The NOTE below is originally from Find-a-Grave information, I believe, and is good practice.

If you need more information on your relative(s) who are buried in the Butte, I will be happy to do a search. However, I understand that the death certificates after 1907 have been pulled from the Butte Archives shelves as requested from an authority of the state (until further notice). We are hoping that they will once again be available for genealogical use. Obituaries may be available in the old newspapers.

Requests may be emailed to me at the email address shown below.

PLEASE NOTE: Photos posted to memorials on Find-a-Grave are copyrighted by the member who submitted the photos. Copying the photo to use elsewhere or on other Find-a-grave memorials (if more than one name is on the headstone) would be a violation of copyright. You must obtain written permission (emails are generally accepted) from the member to use any photo for your own use. In general if you did not take the photo yourself, you do not hold the copyright to the photo.
