The best place to find out where your ancestors came from is get there death cert., or find their head stone.I have been trying to find my ancestors, ever since my Grandmother Edie, gave(1955) what information she had on the family, which she had gotten from her Uncle Frank McCarty . We have gone back East, gone down South,Midwest, and covered the West coast. I have been the family historian and genealogist since about 1985. I try to give credit where I get my information, and not take credit for others work, that is what a true genealogy researcher dose. I have finished my Grandmothers line and sidelines, enough to prove up for DAR. Worked on my husbands line from the South, lots of lost information there, (civil war).
