As the website has been removing photographs I submitted for months now, many, I will soon will systematically begin removing them on my own. I expect some retribution for that. I have seen it before. Regrets all. |
Because the website is arbitrarily removing work I submitted I am not contributing or participating unless I become more comfortable with it's operation. I will miss this. Many years, many friends.
My home is circa 1784. Its situation is such that it fell in the line of battle during the conflict between the States. When my father died, I was too early at the cemetery for the appointment concerning the necessary arrangements. To pass the time I paid a visit to the antique shop close by. Displayed there was a book which possessed a title that gave me the idea that my home may be mentioned within. Upon opening it, the pages fell directly to a description and photograph of my old place. It was not intended for the purpose, but the volume became a much worn field guide as I sought to visit and photograph other antebellum homes in the vicinity. I pursued that objective with interest and vigor. This caused me to notice the old churches en route and I began to photograph them. Behind the churches were cemeteries. Cemeteries that I found to be serene and sublime, full of lore. In turn they led me here and I stayed.

George, I was researching what turned out to be a different Purks line. Finding limited info on the ancestry sites, I turned to newspaper articles. Every now and then I get lucky.

No one owns history, whether an image or a thought and it belongs to all of us. The ownership of history would be a threat to freedom.

Hey George -
'nother great addition!

Nice finds, thanks for sending them my way. I have included them in my biker's tribute page.
That poor guy that was found murdered. MS-13 stands for Mara Salvatrucha 13, a notorious street gang that started in El Salvador and really flourished in Los Angeles. They are now one of the nation's largest bunch of worthless creeps.
Again, thanks and keep on graving!

George, I think maybe I figured out how to do it on the Find A Grave HELP. I contacted them through Outlook email and gave them the information. I guess I will have to wait and see if it worked. Thanks again for your assistance. Donna Wilkins

Thank you for your kind response. I was really hoping you were the one!
Since I know you are much more experienced than I am with the Find A Grave website, can you point me in some direction to be able to fix it? There is so little information posted on Find A Grave it and a shame when more is known.
I do appreciate your effort.
|Donna Wilkins||Sappony Cemetery|
First let me tell you how much ALL of your efforts on Find A Grave is appreciated. You will never know how many you have helped to locate their ancestors! So, God Bless You!
I think you may be the "knight if shinning armor" that created this cemetery for Find A Grave (I know you created 3 of the 4 memorials listed). If I'm correct,I wonder if you would be so very kind as to add the following information for the cemetery itself.
Previously called the Sappony Baptist Church Cemetery (behind the church). Located at 13045 Concord Sappony Road (S.R. 681) with the intersection of Sussex Drive (S.R. 40).
