Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a husband,Dad,Son,brother, GrandPa and a friend. I found this site on accident while I was searching for some death records on Mom, I admire these people and am thankful to these fine folks at Find A Grave. My wife Cheryl, and I love to go graving together, we love the thought of helping to bring some comfort to family or friends of those resting in the cemeteries that we visit. I am a life member of the SCV & MOSB and a member of the Order of the Confederate Rose, and my wife is a life member of the Order of the Confederate Rose, and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. We love to photograph and record the resting place of ANY Confederate veteran we come across as well as install a Confederate flag to indicate his service to the CSA.
We also love to reenact at battles of the war of northern aggression and to do living history events to educate the public about this tragic time in our nation's history that is purposely being omitted from our children's curriculum.

RE: Graham Family History
Thank you for responding to my inquiry. I found online a publication at the LDS Family History center in Salt Lake that I printed off for Tennessee "Records of Sequatchie County tombstone Inscriptions 1834-1937". There was a Graham Cemetery that had two named graves and eleven unmarked graves and another cemetery "Harvey" that had a Deliah Jane Clemons Graham and I followed her to the Find A Grave site that in turn led me to her husband John H. Graham and so on. My Grahams seem to be elusive at best. I am not even sure that I am connecting to the correct Grahams either as there seems to be no records to be found past Thomas S. Graham. Thank you again for responding. There must be a record somewhere... just to find it.

Graham Family History
Looking for a connection to my Hannah Graham who lived in the Sequatchie Valley area in the year 1844 and maybe prior. I see there is a Graham cemetery in the Waldone Ridge area and many of the graves are unmarked. Looking to see if there may be a connection to Thomas S. Graham maybe a sister?? Did Thomas S. Graham live in the Sequatchie Valley area? His relation to Thomas M. Graham that was noted on the Find a Grave site? any direction that you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Sallye Johnston

RE: John Edward Perlis Simpkins
I was just re-reading some of our correspondence - you mentioned the granddaughter of J.E.P. Simpkins still living in Alba - would that be Jan Wigley?

RE: John Edward Perlis Simpkins
J,
I just thought you would like to know that I have just today been authorized a Confederate head stone from the Veterans Administration, and after it's delivery I will install it and there will be a marker dedication cerimony with full military honors. If you would like for me to, I will send you the information once the details have been finalized.
=====================================
WOW! I am VERY PLEASED that you would think of me and include me in this endeavor. Is there anything I can do to help?

I do so hope you'll be able to post pictures of the headstone! HOW EXCITING!

Will there be any paperwork for the ceremony? I surely would love a copy!

Please let me know if I can help in any way! You've been SO helpful and such a kind friend! I'm here if I can do anything!

THANKS A MILLION!

Most Sincerely,
j* (Judith L. Newman - Mesquite, Texas)

Thanks, James!

Do you happen to know Jonette Thornhill, there in Alba?

Wow, James!

The message you left re: John Edward Perlis Simpkins addressed to Shirley A. Dixson, Slack, Noll (#46634291) already HAS helped! :) GREAT INFO!

I'm related to the Simpkins, as well. Are you?

J. E. P. Simpkins older sister, Ellenor (Ellen) Simpkins Sweeden (Cook?) Moore is my 3G Grandmother!

HOW COOL!

I'd like to drive out and visit the cemetery. I live in Mesquite. About how long of a drive do you think it'd be? ...and, any chance I could meet you out there, sometime?

I still have a Sweeden relative living in the area and would like to go visit her, while I'm out that direction.

THANKS for being so kind and sharing the information! Please let me know if I may be of any help, as well!

THANKS, AGAIN...and, TAKE CARE! Always nice to meet relatives.

j* (Judith L. Newman - Mesquite, Texas)
