Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am more than glad to transfer management of any entry that I am not directly related to. I think Find A Grave is a useful tool for family history searches, but personally I think it is awesome to have a place where EVERYONE can have their own little memorial space. Therefore many of my entries are not my family, but rather my effort to provide a memorial for as many as possible. I also welcome correction requests and will update any memorials that need it.

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

RE: Ulessus Grant Squires
I noticed that the name was spelled that way on the death certificate but that isn't the first time I have found errors on death certificates. It might have been a typo. His name is spelled various ways
Ulyses in 1910 census and Ulysses in 1930 but it was spelled Ulysses in our family history.

RE: Kerlin Cemetery
Glad you watched the video. There were several McCoy graves there as well. Let me know if you have any that I need to go back and look for or photograph for you.

RE: Elijah Koger
Thanks for the encouragement. I took a video of my adventure at Kerlin Cemetery that day including us finding the Koger stones. It is on youtube and is labeled "Findagrave Hillside Photo Request and Grooming Cat." Thought you might like to watch it. Let me know if you need any more info from that or other nearby cemeteries. Thanks.

RE: William McCoy
I think who ever added it was the one that removed it. She was pretty fast about it. I see that photo on in Old William trees and it drives me crazy.

RE: Sebird Rhea
The COOKE family is my cousin's line. She may be your cousin, but I am the only one in our family that cares about our family genealogy.
God bless you, Sally

RE: Joel Wideman
Just realized who you are. Thank you so much for the transfer.

Your rainbow reminds me of driving up to their house after the funeral. It hadn't been raining there, but there was a complete rainbow in the east. Our message from him....

Tears again...thank you. Lisa
