Bio Photo Hi!

A lifelong resident of Salt Lake County, I was born at 5:57 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 1992 at Holy Cross Hospital (now Salt Lake Regional Medical Center) in the East Central neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

Raised in West Valley City and Kearns, a lifelong dream came to frution on May 12, 2014, when I moved to Salt Lake City. After three wonderful years in the historic Liberty Wells neighborhood, I returned to my west-side roots on June 24, 2017 and moved into a home in the Glendale neighborhood.

Family history research led me to discover Find A Grave one day back in August of 2006. I subsequently joined and have greatly enjoyed contributing here since. I feel honored and privileged to be able to help document and memorialize the lives of those who came before me as well as preserve their information for future generations. It is truly a labor of love for me.

When not doing genealogical research, I'm deeply involved in politics (serving as a state delegate, county delegate, precinct vice chair, county central committee member, and Utah/Salt Lake County Stonewall Democrats board member) and community service (Emerging Leaders of Utah Initiative community board member and volunteer at the Volunteers of America Utah - Homeless Youth Resource Center).

I also enjoy reading, writing (I write for Utah Political Capitol,, Deseret News, Building Salt Lake, Journal of Mormon History, and QSaltLake Magazine), and listening to '70s and '80s music. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and grew up in the Jordan North Second Ward, Salt Lake Jordan North Stake.

Please let me know of any corrections or additions that need to be made to one of my memorials. As for transfers, I don't subscribe to the four-generation rule. If I've added a memorial for one of your relatives or friends and you would like to manage it, please let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer the memorial to you.

If you have time, please leave flowers for my grandfather, Brent Curtis; my grandfather, Norm Gibbons; my grandmother, Gae Gibbons; my aunt, Jane Brandenburg; my uncle, Marc Curtis; and my cousin, Clair Harward

Some ancestors had a magic way
Of leaving trails to climb each day
They had a goal and climbed with care
Faith gave them dreams and a home most fair
So from a land across the sea
They came to a land most promised to be
And lived their lives happy and free
They gave us freedom and a heritage great
Anchoring our souls from a cruel fate
Great thrills and joys their stories bring
Of the lives they lived and the songs they sing
God grant that I may useful be
And meet these dear ones in Eternity

Ora Mitchell 19212006 Find A Grave Memorial# 54475685
Hi Ryan,
Thank You for the photo of the grave location for Ora.
Is that the actual location where she is buried or just a photo of the cemetery?

Your years of taking the time and providing service to help others as well as myself is greatly appreciated.

Find A Grave Memorial# 10308132
The information on this memorial page does not match the Photos on the page. The photos are of Bonnie Clark and Percy Blaine Hawkes. The information on the memorial is supposed to be for Percy Smart Hawkes and the information you have listed does not match the Percy Smart Hawkes that was born on 2 Dec 1891 Richmond, Cache, Utah. Died 12 Jun 1946 in St. Anthony, Fremont, Idaho and is buried in Pineview Cemetery, Ashton, Fremont, Idaho.

Abigail Judson Curtis #166445973
Hi Ryan,I just noticed that you didn't have a death date for Abigail. Abigail was my grandfather's first wife who died in 1697. Abigail and Josiah Curtis were married in July 1692. My research shows they had 3 children; 1) William b 22 Sept 1693,(he married) 2)Abigail b in 1695 (She married),3) Anna b in 1697 and she also married. Since Anna was born in 1697,perhaps Abigail died in childbirth, but I don't know this for a fact...yet. The child you have listed for them,MATTHEW,was not a child of Abigail. The following children were born to Josiah and Mary Beach: 1)EUNICE b 1 Aug 1699, 2) ABRAHAM b 10 May 1701, 3)JOSIAH b Jan 1702/3, 4)BENJAMIN b 25 Dec 1704, 5)PETER b 1 Apr 1707, 6)MATTHEW #1 (There were 2 Matthews) b 16 Dec 1708 died young, 7)MARY b 25 July 1711, 8) MATTHEW #2 b 1 Dec 1712, and TWINS: CHARLES and MEHITABEL b 1 Jan 1715/16. That makes for a total of 10 children born to Josiah and Mary. Thank you for all you do on Find A Grave! Blessings,Susan♥

Desire Howland Gorham
Hi Ryan, Wow, what a multitude you have contributed to Findagrave! Maybe you won't remember this, but I am trying to see if there is actual documentation of where Desire Howland Gorham is buried. You have posted her under the Cobb's Hill Burying Ground in Barnstable, Mass, and have a note saying she has no marker. I have seen other statements saying she is buried with her husband, John Gorham, in the John Brown family (not that particular John Brown, of course!) cemetery in RI. Do you know where you got your information on her burial place? Thanks so much and blessings for all your work!
