Bio

Barry Charles Karl Moravek, Richland, Washington USA is the son of Lt. Col. Karl T. A. and Marguerite Joyce "Sally" Cummings Moravek. Son, Barry C. K. Moravek was born on Forbes, Air Force Base, Topeka, Kansas.
As a child, I moved to Oxford, England, and later Lakenheath, England... &; later on a number of other U.S. Air Force bases in Massachusetts and , Montgomery, Alabama and more.

As a rule, I generally only record direct/extended family members, or someone that I have known personally.

I was blessed, as my father, Lt. Col. Karl T. A. Moravek (ret.) lived to be just shy of 95 yrs and mom almost to her 91st-- birthday. May God Bless.

My very 1st genealogical position was Vice-President ; then President-elect of the Twin-Ports Genealogical Society 1975-79 (Duluth, MN & Superior, WI). I was attending undergraduate school at the time and later graduate school.

In the early-to-mid-1990's I took an appointment and moved to Washington, D.C. This provided me, in my spare time, with the ability of doing research at the DAR and the U. S. National Archives. Data, of the time, was at my figure-tips, yeah-baby...though there were no computers or networks at the time--just books and micro-film!

I was the founding member of the Isaac Cummings Family Association, (ICFA), (Thank you Genealogical Helper) and in 1992 became the 1st President of the ICFA Association... a very small group of us had started way back in 1974/77 researching our Cummings family. Pete Cummings ; Don Larsen became our 1st, 2nd vice-presidents. Larry Whitaker did a super great job on establishing the ICFA non-profit organization. Thank you, guys!

Our 1st major reunion was in Massachusetts in 1992 and more than 128 descendants and extended family attended. We remember sharing several rooms in Salem, Massachusetts that were filmed where the BEWITCHED--ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY , the T.V. Star stayed during our ICFA reunion. We soon incorporated in Minnesota. Thank you!

I am a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, a former officer of the Eastern Washington State Mayflower colony; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, vice-president, Mid-Columbia, Washington chapter, President; General Society of the War of 1812; A Founding member of the Winthrop Society of the Great Migration (1630-1640) Family Historian/Genealogist for the Cummings, Moravek, Daniel, and allied families, and so much more.

Motto

So much to do, so little time.
