Bio

I was born in Michigan. Lived in the Wayland Caledonia area south of Grand Rapids. Went to work for a major airline ( not a pilot ) and moved to the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Moved to Arkansas to get warmed up, worked at the Little Rock Airport. Moved to Atlanta Ga. for 3 years then back to Arkansas. Retired in 2008 after 36 years. Have been doing my family tree genealogy research for over 40 years. Have been to the Netherlands (fathers side) and to Germany (mothers side) My mothers ancestors came over in 1749 and settled near Harrisburg, Pa. then as the frontier opened they moved west. First to the Akron/Canton Ohio area, then on to the LaGrange Indiana area. From there some branched off into Michigan. My Gr-Grandfather Spidell fought in the Civil War during the Mobile Bay campaign. My fathers side came to America in 1888 and settled just west of Grand Rapids Michigan. My wifes' family came to Arkansas from Georgia through Tennessee. Her mothers maiden name was Pelton and they were the second or third white settlers in the area around Benton, Arkansas about 1816. Her Gr-Gr-Grandfather also fought in the Civil War (on the other side). I love to travel and trace the trails my ancestors took. I have been to Germany and the Netherlands several times, next time I'm taking my camera.
