Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was a full-time Christian/humanitarian worker and volunteer for over 40 years.
I've lived in Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary and Austria.

One of my favorite poems...

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the--dash--between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel,

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Okay, Jan. I took the requested photos, today, and have added them to her memorial. I hope you like them.

RE: Granny's 2nd married name
I just sent you an email with an attachment. I found his DC and Find A Grave, but there is a duplicate for him. So that needs to be combined. I will write. Leonard

You are so welcome. I just noticed his Birthday came around again, I don’t know where the time goes. I left him a token.

Re: #154595193 & #11803205

Jan, since my last message to you, I have found your uncle's memorial, as well as your grandmother's (Lilly Mae) memorial. So, no need to send me that information. HOWEVER, if I am able to find Lilly Mae's burial stone, I will be unable to add it to her memorial until one of two things happen:
1. At least one photo is removed from the memorial
2. You, or someone sponsors the memorial. Find A Grave only allows five photos. If more photos are desired, it must be sponsored. The last time I sponsored a memorial, it was only $5.00.

So, please let me know what you decided to do before I spend the time looking for the burial stone.

RE: Question about Granny
I like the old version best! I was going to request someone to take a photo, but the limit has been reached on her memorial. It can be sponsored and more can be added. It only cost $5. to sponsor one. That is probably the best option to get one. I think I went to her funeral, but for the life of me now, I cannot recall. I have not been back. Hard for me to get around these days.

Please let me know what the memorial number is on your Uncle Joe's memorial page. If possible, I will be happy to get a photo of grandmother's grave.

Re: Joseph W. McDonald, 154595193

I checked this memorial and it shows two sisters:
Lillie Mae Cherry
Gladys Inez Peebles

Did he have any other sisters? I will be glad to help if I can.

It was an honor to do so and yes, He is coming soon and we will be with our loved ones again.

I have a photo of your grandmother's grave marker in Section T at Restland. Since the maximum number of photos has been reached, I am unable to add it to her memorial. While you have the option of removing one of the photos or sponsoring the memorial, I certainly understand why you might not wish to remove one of those wonderful photos. If you'd prefer, I'd be glad to email the photo and allow you to use it as you see fit.
