Like everyone who enters memorials on this site, I try my best to shine a light on the lives of those who once were. I dig as much as possible, including looking for information on spouses, children, parents and siblings, by utilizing online resources. Sometimes there's little information to be found. Sometimes there's a lot. And then there are those times when the person is simply listed in a death record as "Unknown."

Most of the memorials I've added in Find a Grave are for those who have been long dead; in the vast majority of cases a century or more. In many instances entire family branches have died out and there is no one left in the present time to search them out.
