Bio and Links
Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

I miss Chris and Martha with all my heart.

Ted Harrison Find a Grave # 141412051
In November 2015 we sent you an edit for his name; you entered his forename as his nickname "Ted". His correct forenames were "Edward Hardy" and his nickname "Ted". You declined the edit to correctly name him. The link below is to his obituary, which correctly names him:

In addition, there are any number of sources which reflect his name correctly.

Please edit his name to reflect it accurately.

Michael Brown
Hi Louis -- I have a book about 60s music that is gong to be published this year. I would like to use the photo of Michael Brown of the Left Banke that you added to Find a Grave as an illustration. Do you have any information about who may own the rights to that picture, or even where you found it online?

Thank you

I saw the misspelled plaque before.

Wonder why the family doesn't have it corrected. It would make me crazy if that was my family.

It couldn't be "that" expensive.

Dear, Louis,

If you'd like a new name to add to you're star portfolio, I'd like to recommend a recommendation for a recently departed actor named Aiden Harrington. He died this month at the age of 88 and I came across some information to help guide you through the potential construction of a tribute for him.

He has a Wikipedia page,

He also has an official obituary page, with a decent headshot, via his survivors which talk about his life, career, and burial plot...

These two will really help you, he doesn't even have much on IMDb or anything else. He seems to have had a very interesting and promising career.

Hope this helps give you something towards you're next endeavor should you want one. Good luck in all projects that come you're way this year (you have one sharp pen by the way!).

Kindest Regards,
Wyatt L.

Will they bury her next to her late husband?

Sonny, Kermit, and Justin

I think the first I offered was Warren Lowe at Midland. Midland is an unremarkable suburban crossroads, the small cemetery of less than 500. I stopped there yesterday for no particular reason. I noticed Kermit, then Sonny. Three in a small rural cemetery. I told my friend Shock and she related to me about Justin. Shock says a vehicle pulled in front of him on his beloved bike. Best always,

ps - check out tragic Oscar Andrade I noticed at Midland as well.

Sir John Hurt
Dear Louis

It has been confirmed that Sir John Hurt, died on January 25th, rather than the 27th, by his widow, Anwen and his agent, Charles McDonald. I have submitted the date change for this memorial.

Kindest regards
