Although I've finished the cemetery with the photos, I do want to go back and attempt to read some of the worn stones. I always bring a spray bottle of water with me, and sometimes it helps, but I also have a special rubbing paper I might try on some sturdy stones. The local memorial business uses it in the cemeteries to find boundaries. There are a lot of fragile stones there that I just don't even breathe on!! I've never heard of the sock trick. Interesting!!! If you have a bad back, that cemetery is NOT one to wander too far in. It's on a side of a cliff, and there are about 4 different of levels of stones with hills and hills. I don't know how they manage to mow it. After two hours of photographing, I'd take 3 or 4 days off for my knees to recover as well as my back! It is a very interesting cemetery!!! By the way, I live in Palatine Bridge....for the past 28 years.

I'm amazed how many memorials you have in my area!!! I've finished photographing Canajoharie Falls, just finished Prospect Hill (a much as I could.....many unreadable old, old stones), did requests in Freysbush and Mapletown, and am always running into your memorials. You've been a busy lady!!! Did you used to live in this area? I just added the photos to the McConkeys in Prospect Hill and a few others, I can't remember the names. I'm fascinated with Prospect Hill cemetery......some stones from the 1700s and there are slave graves also. what history!!!!

|JASON Of England♞||RE: Jason,|
Hi Rose, just reread your message from 2013 about the red wallpaper and red carpet your mum had back in the 70s, and the joke you had with your husband saying were you both in bordello. When you said bordello Rose I didn't have a clue what that was until I googled it. I thought bordello was a place in Spain like Marbella. Just shows you Rose what a sheltered life I live ha ha! I think I have spent to many years along the river. But love the 70s Rose. Great decade and we all could live happily without computers or cellphones. Now we can't live without them. Have a great day Rose. Jason.

Thank you so much for remembering my father Elvin Rickard on his Angel Day. Our family has missed him, these many years; so it's so nice to know that kind and thoughtful friends like you dear Rose, have taken the time to stop by his memorial to leave a beautiful note and flowers for him. It means so very much to me, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you always!
