Bio Photo A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!

NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)

Colonial Dames of XVIIC 2009 Colonial Ancestor: Bartholomew Stovall, NC

Amelia Island Genealogical Society~ Corresponding Secretary 2004-2005 and Past Nassau County, FL Genealogical Website Committee member.

Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.

6th Generation Floridian: Ancestor Florida Pioneer Abner Sweat and son Samuel.

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

RE: Josephine Oak Hill
I did read it backwards, then thought she had lived 46 years past him probably buried where her family was located. Her maiden name family. I sent a note to the maintainer of the memorial at Oak Hill and linked the white springs lady with Mr. Thompson. Take Care, Cat

Josephine Oak Hill
Sorry just read the part that "you didn't write that" lol, glad someone found the marriage info anyway. I think the second part of that message should be left off, she wouldn't be Mrs. Cone she would be Mrs. Thompson if she didn't remarry, don't you agree? That's a bit confusing....

I wonder if maintainer would take that off or put the entire obit. Take Care, cat

RE: Jospehine Thompson oak hill
There is only an empty space not an unmarked grave. Nothing to indicate anyone was buried there.

I looked up Find A Grave Josephine Cone since she was "Mrs. Jospehine Cone on obit you had listed and there is one listed in White Springs Fl, Hamilton Co. but that Mrs Cone died in 1933.

Sorry I couldn't find her. Cat

Jospehine Thompson oak hill
Hi-I went to Oak Hill today and looked for Josephine. I found the husband and his parents but not her. I put she is not in the marked plot but you didn't give a plot number just wanted to let you know not buried next to him, did the obit say she was buried there? I was wondering why her obit would say Mrs. Josie Cone instead of Thompson, unless she took her maiden name back. Anyway, take care, Cat

RE: Irena Sendler
what are you talking about. I did no such thing. There is some corrections that need to be made and I left them the only way possible to that grave. If findagrave left a way for people to leave corrections there would not be a problem.

Not sure why you get to delete something that I am trying to correct?!

"are you the police of findagrave. too bad you are not very nice. thanks."

My Reply:

People think the "police" are not nice when they are caught doing something that they shouldn't be doing in the first place. Mark doesn't want any duplicated memorials of his Famous memorials; hey, Find A Grave doesn't want any duplicates period. Your duplicated memorial was merged into the Famous or deleted. I hope you didn't make it intentionally. Many years ago, I was given a big yellow star with "Find A Grave Police" on it for helping. Sorry you are upset.
