Bio Photo My beautiful daughter Megan Elaine Brookover

San Diego has some of the best Find a Grave contributors who are doing an amazing job of documenting our local cemeteries. If you need a grave photo there is no shortage photo volunteers. If you are looking for an obituary, cemetery information or advice we have volunteers happy to help you.
If you are new to Find a Grave and want to start contributing in the San Diego area please read the FAQs or reach out to someone with your questions.

Please always do a search before creating a new memorial

Links, Corrections and additional information
Please use the edit tab and I will be happy to make corrections, add links and additional information. Do not leave information you want added on this page.

Note: Abstracted lists (such as census, death index, etc.) should be formulated into complete sentences prior to submitting for addition to the bio.
Copy-and-paste census, military and other data is not a "bio"." "Please don't send these types of edits because they will not be added.

This is Find-a-Grave, we find graves, so please, if the memorial doesn't have a grave photo, request one prior to asking for a transfer.
I'm pretty liberal when it comes to transfers, however too many times I have transferred and nothing is added or changed. So if you want a transfer, please:
1. Post any family photos (if you have them)
2. Provide me with family links and biographical information you wish to add to the memorial.
3. Tell me your exact relationship

I will not make a transfer if you create excessive memorials with unknown burial locations.

Please be a Find a Grave contributor, not just a collector of someone else's work

✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate.

Transfer Request - Almeda Griffin #98681378
Hi Gennaphyr:
I am the great-granddaughter of Almeda Belle Griffin Husted (that's my relationship) Decker Rush Wright. Yes, she married multiple times. If there's no objection, I'd like to have this memorial transferred so I can provide photos, update family relationships, bios, etc. Rest assured, this memorial will be well-attended!
Many thanks for your consideration and your phenomenal contributions to FindaGrave.

RE: Duplicates
I requested transfer of management of my biological father and grandfather and this is the reply I received. Apparently this person is a step grandson maintaining these and my father's widow said no. Is there any thing else to be done? Wow I cant believe a step family with not allow the biological family managing their loved ones memorials.

[Send Reply] RE: transfer of management
Sorry! But my grandfathers (Les Jr.) widow said no.. I did finish updating them though...

Flower left on Lilian J. Rice memorial
Hi Gennaphyr,
I am an active genealogist and Findagraver. I am currently reading the biography of Lilian J. Rice, a famous architect from San Diego. While reading I wondered if Lilian had a Findagrave memorial so I searched and found it. I noticed that there were a couple of flowers left on the memorial, one of them being from you. I thought; "I know that name" and checked my San Diego family in Greenwood Memorial Park. You were the creator of some of my family's memorials including Edith and Jack Briel and Emma and Henry Shogran. You were kind enough to transfer them to me. I am not completely done with their memorials yet. I am still searching for pictures and the memorial for Edith Briel (my great aunt) is very emotional for me as she raised me part of my life (kinda a weird situation) and I want to pay tribute to her the best way I can so I am still working that out in my mind.

I just want to thank you for all of your work on Findagrave. Also I wonder if you are as crazy as I am for Spanish Colonial Revival and Mexican style buildings (who couldn't be living in San Diego) and that is what lead you to Lilian's memorial. I buy every book I can find on the subject and found out about Lilian Rice through Diane Keaton's book. Great story. I was raised in San Diego and lived there until about 30 years ago. I miss it very much and visit family often. I hope I can visit her actual grave when I go to San Diego again. I visited Julia Morgan's grave in Oakland (Hearst Castle architect)once only because I have family buried there. Thanks again for your transfers and your kindness. Mitzi Butler

Gennaphyr, When I claim a photo request, there is no reason to know it is a duplicate. I read the 'note' to see what information, before I claim, but this requester is of Sargent's Family, so I was happy to help her. You transferred management of the memorial You created to a person, probably not as closely related. I am a retired special education teacher, a 'genealogist' and a better photographer. I have never created a findagrave memorial without adding the grave photos, which is the purpose for findagrave memorials.
