PLEASE! message me if you want a copy of the pictures I have posted on this site. I only document my relatives unless otherwise stated and so if you want them, you must be a relative as well and I'd like to connect with you. I have seen them just copied and taken; and I would prefer to be listed as the source, as I have done the legwork, research, travel time and gas money to get them. Thank you for your respect on this matter~

DEAR ANCESTORS

Your tombstone stands among the rest,
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out,
On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse,
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled,
One hundred years ago,
Spreads out among the ones you left,
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved.
I wonder if you knew,
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

I've been interested in my ancestry all my life, but I finally started doing something about it in May 2012.

I've discovered some amazing things and appreciate how others work have helped me, so I hope I can help others too.

I wish I had my relatives around to ask them questions and get their memories. Don't wait until it's too late like I did.
